Halloween at Eldorado P.S. Dear Parents, Many of our families engage in various celebrations around Halloween. At Eldorado P.S. We will recognize the celebration during the afternoon on October 31st. We want to make sure our Halloween activities foster inclusion and school spirit. The spirit of inclusion also means respect for the decision of those who chose not to participate in Halloween activities. Participation is voluntary. Our plans for Halloween are as follows: • There will be a costume parade for our primary students (Kindergarten to grade 3) at 1:30 p.m. Our Kindergarten students will parade through the gym and our grades 1,2 and 3 students will parade through the halls. • Students can wear their costume to school (recommended for our younger students) or change into their costume after the second nutrition break (recommended for older students) • Many classrooms (K to Grade 8) may have celebrations in the afternoon on this day. Homeroom teachers will forward specific information to parents. Please remember we have many students with severe allergies. All snacks sent to school should be nut free and well labeled with all ingredients. • Parents are welcome to come and watch the parade. Please sign in through the office and inform the homeroom teacher via a note in the agenda • Students who do not wish to participate in the Halloween activities at Eldorado are invited to go to the school library where a variety of games will be provided for students. If your child would like to take advantage of this option, we ask that parents please inform homeroom teachers so the arrangements can be made. • Remember —no swords, sabres, or weapons of any kind. Costumes should be appropriate for school. Regardless of whether students chose to participate in Halloween activities or not, all members of the school community are expected to honour our values of honesty, inclusivity, respectfulness, responsibility and care.
