ViewMusicViewMusic is a music discovery service based on real world connections, delivered through an iPhone app. The app is an R&D project currently in it’s final stages of development, and about to begin real world testing. The app UI is based around streamlining the process of selecting a type of journey, and providing the user with the linkage information in a way that is not overwhelming.

All of the information in the selection process is carefully layered. It is both immediately accessible for the users who want more control over their journey, while being hidden enough to make the app easier for the casual user.

Hermes Store PromotionA series of posters designed to advertise the opening of the newHermes store in Paris. The posters drew heavily from the architecture, with the motif itself playing with the patterns from the store and its location on the Paris street map. All the posters were created using only laser cutting and layering, and kept deliberately minimalist in order to stress emphasis on the location of the store.

Squirrel Squirrel is a multi platform education resources app designed for Liverpool Hope university. The app was conceived as a replacement for the current system used to distribute vteaching resources, with an emphasis on encouraging peer to peer discussion and sharing. The application is currently still in a trial phase with the MA (Hons) Teaching course, with a plan to roll it out as a part of the University ecosystem later this year.

A.A. OnvolmaktThe A.A. Onvolmakt typeface was designed for use as a body copy font with character. After designing it, I presented the typeface in a small specimen book. The book was printed by dis assembling and reconstructing a pocket size Moleskine notebook. The size was kept deliberately small to emphasise the typefaces suitability for use at a small point size. The book also includes a number of text extracts demonstrating the typefaces numerous features and in particular its strength in typesetting large bodies of text.

GraftGraft was the branding for the 2011 LJMU Graphic arts degree show. The iPad publication was designed as an interactive companion to the print publication. Showcasing a diverse range of work from a number of students, the publication allowed viewers to seamlessly browse images and personal portfolio websites, as well as an article telling the story behind the show.
