Industry young gun Nikki Porter, whose reputation and rising star was cemented when she won Global.Synergy 2013, has been announced as the Salon Manager, having spent 5 years at Rubi Hair Windsor under the guidance of the salon’s namesake, Kaye Rubi. With contemporary, urban décor, a young, innovative and talented team, and a commitment to skill advancement and offering the best service possible, Rubi Hair Malvern is set to be the hair destination for the fashion-forward or someone looking to experience something fun and fresh. It seems the age 26 is the magic number for owner/manager promotions at Rubi Hair; with Kaye opening her first salon business at 26, Michelle Meade from Rubi Hair Richmond was 26 upon going into business with Kaye, and now Nikki at 26 is keeping the tradition alive! Benni Tognini is set to take part in a most unusual experiment; he’s about to taking part in the world’s first ‘Hair Raising’ Challenge. The Challenge will see Benni blind-folded while cutting and styling a CEO’s hair (who is also blind-folded). The Challenge is looking to raise much needed funds for the Guide Dogs Queensland. The ‘Hair Raising’ Challenge will be held at 1pm at the Queen Street Centre Stage with the winner of the challenge decided by audience participation on who has completed the ‘pawfect’ cut and style. Guide Dogs Queensland receive less than 7% Government funding for some rehabilitation services, and no government funding for the breeding, training and placement of Guide Dogs for people who are blind or vision impaired.
