The Gator range is designed to make cleaning as quick and convenient as possible and this userguide will help you get the most out of your machine.
The Gator range is perfect for small cleaning tasks on surfaces and upholstery.
Taking care of your Gator
Also inside this guide are instructions on maintaining your new machine, so that its always readywhen you need to tackle those small jobs.
This handheld is intended for household use only andNOT for commercial or industrial use.
This handheld is for indoor use only.
For dry debris use, not to be used on wet surfaces.
Keep ngers, hair and loose clothing from moving partsand openings whilst using the handheld.
Only Vax recommend charger, tools and accessoriesshould be used with this handheld.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervisionor instruction concerning use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazards involved.Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaningand user maintenance shall not be made by childrenwithout supervision.
Please keep instructions for further use.
Always make sure lter and dirt container are ttedcorrectly before using your handheld.
Always turn off the Gator handheld vacuum anddisconnect the charger before carrying outany maintenance.
Turn off all controls on the handheld beforedisconnecting or connecting the charger.
Take extra care when cleaning on the stairs.
Always replace the fuse in the plug with a 13amp fuse.
Always protect the charger cable from heated surfacesor near open flames.
Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cords may overheat. Care shouldbe taken to arrange the extension cord as it can be atrip hazard.
Always carry the handheld by the handle.
Store your handheld in a cool, dry area.

8 Dont charge the handheld outdoors
8 Dont use this handheld if it has been dropped,damaged, immersed in water or left outdoors.
8 Dont run over the charger cord or use the handheld ifthe charger cord or plug is damaged. Please contactour Customer Care Line on: 0844 4128 455 (Mon-Fri8.30am to 6.30pm, Sat 9.00am to 5.00pm).
8 Dont handle the plug or use the handheld withwet hands.
8 Dont throw the handheld into re or expose to hightemperatures, as the handheld contains a rechargeablenickel cadmium battery which may cause damageor burst.
8Dont pull or carry this handheld by the charger cord.
8Dont use the charger cord as a handle, pull the chargercord around corners or sharp edges or close a doorover the charger cord. Dont unplug handheld by pullingon the charger cord.
8Dont attempt to remove blockages with sharp objectsas this may cause damage to your handheld.
8Dont use the handheld charger with incorrect voltageas this may result in damage or injury to the user. Thecorrect voltage is listed on the ratings label.
8Dont vacuum up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches orsmoking hot burning items or use in an area wherethere may be harmful uids (chlorine, bleach, andammonia drain cleaner).

side of the dirt container to release lid.

Whilst holding the dirt container over a bin, grasp the
lter gently and pull out.
Shake any excess dirt or debrisfrom the dirt container.
Tap lter against bin.

Wash the lter under running water and leave tofully dry for a least 24 hours before replacing.
Donotusethehandheldwithout
thelterinplace.
Gently push lter back into the dirt container. To re-attach the dirt container, align bottom of the
dirt container and push until it locks into place.
WARNING
To remove the Turbohead (Gator H87-GM15 only) for cleaningor when not in use, gently twist down and pull to detach.
To attach the Turbohead (Gator H87-GM15 only),align with dirt container and push until it locks in place.

Battery may not be fully charged. If using the handheld forthe rst time the initial charge should be 24 hours.
The charging light will illuminate continuously when charger

The nozzle or crevice tool may be blocked, check and clearany blockage. The lter may be c logged, clean the lter.
Go to Taking care of your machine page*. The battery is
getting weak, let the battery run until it stops and recharge.
The dirt container may be full, empty the dirt container.
Go to Using your machine.
The charger may not be inserted correctly. Check the fusein the plug, i f this needs replacing always replace with a13amp fuse.
