High Level Interoperability Objective
• Promote International Harmonization
• Standardized data exchange with international ANSPs, AOCs, and the aviation industry
Utilize FIXM, AIXM, and iWXXM standards
• Evaluate how these standards will address multiple disparate international systems
 Different levels of maturity
Different levels of data model fidelity
 Recommend updates to the standards
• Identify and convey the operational value that can be achieved through global interoperability and harmonization
Identify services meaningful to current and future operations

CAAS/GCAA – ATFM Across FIRs
Improved Demand/Capacity Balancing Across FIRs

Improved Traffic Management Value
• Capitalizing on enhanced, automation accessible information, decision support tools/systems improve performance across FIRs with;
Improved aerodrome efficiency and demand/capacity balancing
 AU/ASP trajectory negotiation
Increased predictability with updated trajectory information incorporated into network management tools
• Enhanced strategic planning tools using richer information provide AUs greater flexibility to reduce operational impact of constraints
AUs able to absorb delays at gate/stand prior to departure • Reduce ATM environmental impact and airborne congestion, while
improving aerodrome surface efficiency
Global SWIM ensures continuous dissemination of dispatcher updates across the full route improving predictability of downstream stakeholders’ decision support systems

Lessons Learned
• Developed and deployed SWIM infrastructure in the lab
• Developed interface to connect own SWIM to global
community with common protocols
• Experience developing applications/tools to support
operations using standardized exchange models
• Access to dataset stored and shared on SWIM and the
need for governance and security
• Experience seamless end-to-end connectivity between
Airspace Users and Air Navigation Service Providers
