FCUMC MISSION STATEMENT
“SEEKING TO BE THE HEART AND HANDS OF CHRIST SHARING THE LOVE OF CHRIST WITH OUR COMMUNITY AND BEYOND.”
Dear Friends,
The Apostle Paul, in the book
of Acts addresses the Elders
in Ephesus by saying to them
“Keep watch over yourselves
and over all the flock, of
which the Holy Spirit has
made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God
that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.” (Acts
20:28). I am the appointed Elder to serve Fletcher’s
Chapel United Methodist Church and I take this state-
ment seriously. Taking care of my flock is what I have
been called to do, but I need your help!
If you know of someone who is need of pastoral care or
you would like a visit, please call me, text me, send me
an email, send up a smoke signal (okay, that may be a
little far fetched). My mantra is “I would rather hear it
100 times than not at all!” Also, please remember the
“Prayer and Care” cards that are in the back of the pews
and the box for them that is outside my office. I want to
be present for those who need pastoral care, and I will
do my best to respond. If I know, I will go!
In God’s love,
Pastor Suzanne

We are back to meeting and sponsored an ice cream social in August to have one more summer time fun! Thanks
to all who helped, contributed food, and came to have a good time!
Our church will be continuing to support Merrick-Moore School as the students and teachers return for a new
year. Please remember to contribute school supplies!
We will also be supporting the Southern football team with a meal on September 30 and November 4. Let Jennifer
Frazier know if you are interested in helping with food and/or serving.
We are resuming our study of the book, Living a Life of Balance. You might be surprised that our Lord doesn’t ex-
pect us to be “super woman” but to just be in tune to where he wants us to put our time. We would love to have
you come join us in this study and help us this year with church and community activities. Our next meeting is Sep-
tember 13, at 6:30.
