OUR STUDENTS OUR PRIDE
ACADEMICS
We all agree that when our children make us proud there is nothing more precious than this. GSV feels
elated to announce the result of their Class XII students. 12 students appeared for Board exam. Out of
which 8 students scored above 70% and 4 above 50% marks. All of them have enrolled themselves for B.A.
Pass Course (correspondence) from Delhi University. They are also working with various organizations to
support their families.

9 Students of Class 10th appeared for CBSE
Board Examination 2016-17. One student got
compartment but he got success in
reexamination. Congratulations to all the
students for their success.
Star of the Year 2016-17 –Pragya Verma
PRAGYA brought laurels to Gyan
Shakti Vidyalaya by scoring 86% in her
CBSE Class XII 2016-17 Final
Examination. She was facilitated with
a Certificate and a Book by Hon’ble
Education Minister, New Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodiya in an
Award function, in Government School Chilla, Mayur Vihar.
The hard work of teachers, mentors who have played
a vital role as guide is worth mentioning here.
Workshops & Summer Camp
• In house Teacher’s Workshop was conducted by Mrs.
Guddi Nagi on 3rd May 2017. The topic of the day was
Aims & Objectives of subjects taught in the school. 13
teachers along with Ms. Anjali Choudhry attended the
same.
• Learning beyond the classroom – A workshop was
held in Mercer India, Noida on 19th May 2017. 26
students from Class 9th and 11th
along with 4 teachers attended
the workshop. The topics covered
were Communication Skills,
Actuarial Science, Human Resources and Career
Counseling.

• Summer Camp (15th -18th May 2017)
Nineteen volunteers from Mercer India
Ltd. Noida visited GSV to interact with our
students.
They conducted various activities which
included
➢ Art & Craft – paper craft –making
Lantern, butterfly & flowers.
➢ Work Puzzle
➢ Look & write
➢ Experiments on Natural Resources
(Rusting & Chemical Reaction)
➢ Mental Maths, Vedic Maths
➢ Jumbled Words, Picture Story
➢ Spelling Competition.
➢ A talk on "Different kinds of fuel for
automobiles and their effect on
environment" with Senior students.
➢ Sports Activities - Spoon and Lemon
race for Junior students and Basket
Ball and Archery for Senior students.
School Functions –Annual Play This year 45 GSV students (Aged 9-17
years) staged the Annual Play
“Chauraha” on 30th June at Chinmaya
Mission Auditorium, Delhi. The play was
penned by Shri Anish Azmi and directed
by Shri. Nadeem Khan depicting the Life
journey of people living on pavements.
The students also performed Guru Vandana and
Uzebekistani Dance under the guidance of Ms. Bhakti.
Pandit Bhajan Sopori Renowned Santoor player &
Musicologist graced the occasion as Chief Guest and
Smt. Sheila Dixit, Former Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms.
Stuti Narayan Kacker, Chairperson - National
Commission for the Protection of Child Rights and Mr.
Priyank Kanungo, Member Education were invited as
Guest of honour.
National Festival/School’s Annual Day
• GSV celebrated India's 70th Independence Day along
with School's Annual Day on 15th August 2017 at Park
School. Children decorated the entrance gate of the
park. The
smartly
dressed NCC
Cadets (Girls)
did a March
past and saluted our National Flag with pride. Students
also presented a plethora of different items staged by
all age group of children (prepared under the guidance
of teachers). The decoration, the audience, the emcee
of the day all together turned out to the Grand Event
of GSV!!!
Nukkad Natak • In order to promote awareness of the most important
issue of the day ‘Cleanliness’, GSV trained 11 students
(age group 10-16 years) to perform Nukkad Natak
“Swachhata ki Soch”. They were invited by various
organizations which includes:
➢ Indian Oil Corporation on 17th July 2017.
➢ Sector 55 Market place on 23rd July 2017.
➢ Akashwani Bhavan, Sansad Marg for recording.
They also received certificates, T-shirts and a
cheque of Rs.6000/- as a token of appreciation.

Trips
• On 13 April 145 students of class 6th to
12th and 39 parents along with 6
teachers went to watch a movie
‘Poorna’ at Spice
Mall, Noida. The
movie is about
Poorna Malavath
the youngest girl in the World from
Telangana, India, who conquered Mount
Everest at the age of 13. Our heartfelt
thanks to Ms. Namita Gautam who
sponsored the movie.
• To celebrate Van Mahotsav 27 students
accompanied by two teachers Ms.
Suman & Ms. Rita visited Okhla Birds
Sanctuary. They also planted saplings in
Kalindi Park near Batala House.
Social Activities
• An Eye Camp was organized at Basti by
Steria India. Noida on 24th May and 24th
July, 2017.
Approximately
120 residents
and their
children of basti
were benefited by this camp.
They were given medicines and eye
drops.
• IL&FS conducted a session on 'Road
Safety' for primary students (3rd to 5th
classes) on 5th July. A film was also
screened at Miniland School to raise
awareness about Road Safety.
• GSV is delighted to introduce the new Notebooks for its students.
• Summer uniforms were distributed to all Students
on 16th May, 2017.
Donors and their contribution
• Dr. Harpreet Ratra from Ratra Dental Clinic,
Sector 15 A, Noida donated 73 Registers, 46
Pencil boxes, 9 boxes of Pens, 44 Note Books on
1st May.
• Ms. Hina & Mr. Rajat Aggarwal donated 180
Registers on 5th May.
• Mr. Prashant Rohtagi and Mrs. Abha Rohtagi
residents of Eldeco Utopia, Noida donated 360
Medimix soaps on 23rd August.
• Mrs. Manorama Gogia resident of Sector 26,
Noida sent 8 cartons of Real fruit juice on 8th
September.
• Colonel V.N.Thapar resident of Sector 29, Noida visited our Park school and distributed 200 pieces each of registers, pencils, scales, erasers and sharpeners on 26th September.
