Tagore – Genius lesser known to masses spc the young India

After his death in 1941, Tagore’s works were largely celebrated in Bengal, his own nation of origin. Unfortunately very little of his writing was available in adequate English translation. much had been killed by bad translation and most of his poetry was adapted into Bengali songs.

One Legend on Another

"Tagore has been a turning point in my writing. It is because of Tagore that I started reading Bangla, to read Tagore in original, I learnt Bangla,"

This inspiration led to the germination of this album. Gulzarji handpicked 7 poems written by Tagore which were never composed or translated.

He brought out Tagore’s romantic side to the forefront. And did a word by word translation of Tagore’s poem in Hindi, keeping Tagore’s poetic style intact.

In Gulzarji’s words – “I have not written the lyrics, it is Tagore’s”

An album WITH & WITHOUT Tagore

Paglo ki tarah main ghoomta hoon, main ghoomta hoon, main ghoomta hoon.

Kasturi hiran jaise apni khushbu mein paagal ghoomta hai.

main ghoomta hoon, main ghoomta hoon, main ghoomta hoon
