Background
The International Education Program (IEP) is one program of Piboonbumpen Demonstration School
where English is the main instructive language in classrooms. The former name of this program was
the “English Immersion Program” (EIP) which was started in 2001 and as a non-government project
was approved by the University Board of Trustees on May 22, 2001. EIP was different from other
international schools, and the school was formed as a research project by the Faculty of Education of
Burapha University with a focus on international education development using the National Curricu-
lum which has been revised and approved by the Ministry of Education. In 2004, the name of the
program was changed to “International Education Program for Basic Education (IEP)” in accordance
with the changes in the school administrative system and educational reform but now is called the
“International Education Program (IEP)”.
Vision
IEP is an institution that uses the best practices of an internationalized curriculum and instruction.
Each and every student is developed to their full potential to become a contributing citizen of the
world.
Mission
IEP is an institution that experiments and implements an internationalized Thai curriculum, conduct-
ing teaching and learning management through studies, experiments and research, as well as involv-
ing cooperation and collaboration with outside institutions using STEPtm CISTEMtm models. As a
result of innovation and development in education IEP also incorporates the Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education.
Goals
To prepare students for higher education
To enhance the quality of basic education to levels of international standards
To open opportunities of education for those who seek to develop international standards and
language skills

Teaching and Learning
The International Education Program follows the National Curriculum with an emphasis on thinking
systems and language skills. As a result, students of IEP can pursue further study both domestically
(Thailand) and internationally. Now, IEP has an English Zone project policy in which the English
language is the standard language used with only the Thai language being used for Thai and Thai
history subject classes.
Teaching and Learning System
The English language is taught by qualified native English speakers.
All subjects are taught in English except Thai and Thai history subjects.
For the most effective student care, the number of students in each class is limited to 25 students.
Students have a choice to study a third language with qualified native speakers.
Students can take part in field trips in Thailand each year.
Students have the opportunity to take part in international field trips.
Language and cultural exchange programs (short or long term) are available.
