Vance and I love the Athens community so it was exciting to see the attendees of The Southern C Summit this summer enjoy the Classic City as much as we do. The Eptings and so many of our favorite Athens people and places rolled out the red carpet to show off our town and I appreciate it so much. Whitney Long and I founded The Southern Coterie in 2011. “What I love about Athens and what continues to grow and change every year is the food cul-ture. We harbor an amazing and talented pool of chefs, farmers, and creative entrepreneurs that continue to push our reputation as one of

the greatest dining locations in the South.”

“The people make Athens unique. There is a collection of incredibly talented and creative people in Athens working on all sorts of great things. They inspire and

encourage each other, everyone is each other’s biggest cheerleader. These folks could live anywhere but choose to make their home in this unique, and sometimes quirky,

community. I am so proud to be part of it!”

Stefano Volpi prepares food at La Dolce Vita much like his family did while growing up at the foothills of the Italian Alps. Hearty portions of the highest quality pasta made from scratch. The lightest gnocchi each rolled by hand. Fresh tomatoes straight from the garden and handpicked porcini mushrooms gathered from the nearby forests. The prosciutto and salami cut into the thinnest slices and the freshest house made mozzarella slathered with freshly pressed olive oil. Volpi’s kitchen shares the very best of his culinary heritage. Italians enjoy “the sweet life” of great food, and at La Dolce Vita, you can too.
