ROTARY DISTRICT 7080 to ROTARY DISTRICT 4340, 2010-11 INTRODUCING THIS YEAR’S GSE TEAM LEADER: PEGGY ANDERSON-COATS Peggy was selected to lead this year’s team by the Dis- trict’s selection committee. Peggy is a past president of the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium and was chair of the District Conference in October, 2009. Peggy has hosted two inbound GSE teams. She and husband Sam are co-owners of Anderson- Coats photography in Guelph. Peggy is ac- tively involved in her club and in her commu- nity. She is never afraid to accept a chal- lenge. Peggy is very excited to represent Dis- trict 7080 in Chile and is looking forward to September 11 when her team will be selected and they can start to prepare for their exchange. Looking for Applicants for GSE Team Members

The Group Study Exchange program is sponsored by the Rotary International Foundation. The idea behind this exciting program is to give young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 a unique opportunity to experience a cultural and

vocational exchange. The program provides travel grants for a four person team and a Rotarian team leader to travel to the area around Santiago, Chile from March 19 – April 19, 2011. While in Chile, the team members are being hosted by local Rotarians. The chosen team members will study the institutions, the Chilean way of life and observe their own vocations as practiced in Chile. The program is planned by the hosting Rotarians and their clubs.

Applicants must be between the ages 25 and 40 Be fully employed with at least two years of work experience in their chosen field Be personable, articulate, cooperative, motivated team players and enthusiastic about their voca-

tions Be a Canadian citizen Be prepared to spend considerable time in preparation for the trip. Team members will give verbal

and audiovisual presentations in Chile Can not be related to a Rotarian or be a Rotarian Be available to participate in a full day selection session(8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on Saturday, September

11th in Cambridge at AECON

INTRODUCING DISTRICT 4340 GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE TEAM TEAM LEADER is Roberto Silva Perez. Roberto is an administrative engineer by profession. He works

for Empresas Torre which is stationery producer for offices and educational institu-

tion. He works as an internal auditor for the company and has responsibility for the

SAP security system. Roberto has been a Rotarian since 1992, RC of La Florida,

President 2001-2002 & 2002-2003, ADG for four years, Second Secretary and

ADG for DG Miroslav Bakovic.

TEAM MEMBERS:

Carolina Mora Douglas is an English Teacher who works with University students.

Rosemarie del Solar Pinilla is an English Teacher who works with elementary and secondary students

Gabriel Ugarte Vera is an industrial engineer who works in educational research and public policy.

Macarena Rojas Sandoval is an Architect currently working in reconstruction after the earthquake.

Rotary International District 4340 -Chile In the map to the left, the yellow section of Chile is District 4340. District 4340 covers the area of the country from Santiago to Talca. It has 64 clubs and approximately 1430 Rotarians. The area around Talca was the location of the 2010 earthquake.
