Ontario’s teachers use assessment and evaluation practices that:
are fair, transparent and equitablesupport all studentsare carefully plannedare clearly explained to students
and parents at the beginning of the school year
are ongoing and varied, and provide multiple opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning
include feedback that is clear, meaningful and timely
help students to become independent learners

Progress Report will be sent home November 18
parent conferences will be held the evening of November 25th and during the day on November 26th
first Provincial Report Card sent home in February
final Provincial Report Card sent home in June
The Elementary Progress Report
emphasis on Learning Skills and Work Habitsa “snapshot” of what your child is DOING in
his/her classroomwill contain no letter grade or marksteachers will indicate whether a student is
“Progressing Well”, “Progressing Very Well”, or “Progressing with Difficulty” in the subject areas
learning Skills will be indicated as either Needs Improvement, Satisfactory, Good, or Excellent
parent conferences on November 25th and 26th

There are 6 new learning skills/work habits: Gr.1 – 12

Teachers will comment on student strengths and next steps for improvement
