Grassroots of Going Green Office Tip #3
Your work computer monitor works late into the night even if you’re not there!
• Screensavers do not save power. They do just the opposite compared to just turning off the monitor
• Even if your computer needs to stay on at night to run programs, it doesn’t need your monitor
• Don’t be wasteful, but if you have the opportunity, trade your monitor for a LCD one. LCD’s use much less power then the CRT monitors do
• Set your computer to go to sleep if not being used for more then ten minutes
