School Planning Snippets
Thanks to those families who
attended the Remembrance Day
service at the cenotaph on 11th
November. It was an excellent
service with Kaitlin Horn receiving
many accolades from the community
for her address. Well done Kaitlin.
Both primary classes attended the
Sydney cenotaph last week and
participated in outstanding
workshops presented by cenotaph
staff.
We received this feedback from the
staff on our children’s participation:
“Thank you for bringing your
students to visit the Anzac Memorial
yesterday. We appreciate the amount
of work required to undertake such
an excursion and we hope that you
and your students found the
experience both meaningful and
memorable. It was a pleasure to
work with your students. They were
incredibly respectful and well
prepared. You have set a very high
bench mark as one of our first school
groups through the doors – we hope
that all students will be like those
from Gresford Public!” Well done
Gresford!
Our cricketers had a close game with
Paterson last week and were nearly
the victors. These games are always
played in friendly spirit which we
don’t always see in sporting role
models at state and national levels.
Our kids could show some elite
athletes a thing or two. Well done
cricketers.
Our Kinder Class of 2019
attended Orientation again this
week and were wonderful. We will
have another lovely settled group of
students on Day 1 next year.
Thanks to the Year 5 buddies who
helped them in the classroom. I’m
sure they will continue to support
them in their first days at school.
Interestingly, the Year 5 buddies
were Miss Mac’s first Kinder
students all those years ago.
To ensure the safety of all children
please drop off and pick up
children on Glendonbrook Road.
The bus stop area is busy and
congested especially in the
afternoon so it is safest to drop and
collect children on Glendonbrook
Road.
We hold regular emergency drills at school to prepare the children and staff for any unexpected events. Our drill this term was to call children off the playground during a lunch break into a safe classroom. They did this without warning, in a calm and orderly fashion in just over 3 minutes. Well done again Gresford! Kind regards,
Pauline

is to be feared.
It is only to be
understood.” Marie Curie
Miss Mac and I attended a two-day course this week to assist the staff in organising the heavy professional
learning load they carry each year in order to keep abreast of current educational research. We will now be better
able to manage that most precious of resources-time. This program will support us to focus our energies in
executing the school plan for 2019.

Reminders We have suggestions for your Christmas gift list. Why not buy a bottle or two of Boydell’s special
150th Sesquicentenary wine or a pair of 150th commemorative mugs – all available at the office. Kindergarten last Orientation morning is 28th November 9.30-11.35am. It has come to our attention that some children are bringing unsuitable food for their lunches. High
sugar and highly processed foods alone do not provide adequate nutrition for children to meet their energy requirements for a busy school day.
School Fees & Contributions It would be appreciated if families with outstanding accounts could finalise these payments as soon possible. Failure to settle these accounts will impact upon our ability to provide extra activities in 2019.
All bus board changes
must be
received by
2.45 pm to ensure
children receive message in time
Excursion to Sydney for Remembrance Day 100 Years
HATS HATS HATS It has come to our attention that children are coming to school without their hats. All children need to have a sun safe hat at school each day, especially as groups do outdoor fitness each morning. If your chld does not have a hat please consider buying one from the Uniform Shop for $10 to ensure they can participate fully in outdoor activities.
