Introduction of the product

What is Gypsum? Gypsum is a light weight material that we can get in two ways. 1) evaporating sea water in massive prehistoric basins, i.e., marine gypsum 2) through mining, i.e., mineral gypsum. In terms of its chemical composition, it is Calcium Sulphate Di-hydrate (CaSO4.2H2O) and inherently contains 21% water by molecular weight. Gypsum products have been used for centuries in the construction space and are the material of choice because of gypsum’s unique properties. It has excellent insulation properties both thermal and acoustic and can offer very good passive fire protection, moisture resistance, impact resistance and vapor control when used in combination with the right systems.

What is Greensum Whytal Plaster?

When a wall is constructed with brick or block, they are finished with a coat of plaster which is called internal plastering. Internal plastering has traditionally been done through a process of sand-cement plastering finished with POP pruning. This is a two stage process and involves multiple elements like sand, cement and water which is mixed onsite. This form of plastering is being slowly replaced by a direct single coat application of Greensum plaster. So Greensum plaster is actually a replacement of two processes i.e. sand cement plastering & POP punning. Whytal plaster is produced as a result of calcinations of the raw gypsum in an automatic kettle under controlled temperature.

FLEXURAL TENSIL STRENGTH

Greensum Whytal plasters exhibit high tensile and flexural strength. They are less prone to cracking

or debonding due to thermal, tensil and shearing movement of the background.

NON-TOXIC AND ANTI-FUNGUS

Greensum Whytal plasters will not harbour insects or nourish mould growth or fungi. They pose no

health hazards and are therefore frequently specified in hospitals and clinics. They are gentle on the

skin and offer a clean, healthy environment.

NO CURING REQUIRED

Greensum Whytal Plasters require no water curing and should be permitted to dry out as quickly as

possible. A definite advantage considering the weather conditions in the Tropical Country like India

and a plus for Kerala .

FIRE INHIBITOR

Greensum Gypsum is non-combustible (inert), designated class ‘O’ in a accordance to BS 476:4:1970,

and contains a high content of crystal water. In the event of fire, will act as a barrier and will protect

the block work, concrete and steel.

ACOUSTIC PROPERTIES

Greensum Plaster (calcium sulphate) as a binder is used in the manufacture of acoustic tiles and

plasters, a contributory factor to the absorption of air-borne sounds.

BONDING PROPERTIES

Due to the nature and structure of gypsum, it exhibits excellent bonding properties: hence is

applied in a single coat on R.C.C. ceilings, Internal Bare-Brick walls, Hallow Concrete Blocks and

Concrete Columns.

RUST INHIBITOR

The Gypsum blended the Whytal plaster is the perfect rust preventive agent and inhibits

corrosion of electric metal fittings, pips, etc. Metal lathing’s embedded in Whytal plaster will not

corrode or rust. Serves durable life-long.

EASE OF APPLICATION

International gypsum plasters are pre-mixed and available in easy to handle bags. Only the addition of

water is required. A single coat application suffices in most situations resulting in less wastage of time,

labor and material. Semi-skilled masons can be taught how to apply and achieve excellent finishes

within a few hours on site.

AESTHESTICS
