Portmore Chapter
The future is there for us
all to achieve what we
want; and with dedication
and God everything can
be achieved.
This is the foundation on
which we place our or-
ganization in the beautiful
municipality of Portmore.
We as a group: will work
hard to develop this city
into the beautiful diamond
it is. Polishing it untill it
shines like the beakon for
the rest of the island.
Eradicating poverty,crime
and other socio-economic
problems we migth en-
counter on our way to de-
velopment of the Munici-
pality.
We plann to glavanize the
youths in Portmore and
allow them to grow and
become better individuals
in society through various
mechanisms. Such as educa-
tional programs, skill training ,
sports and other channels were
the younger generation can
make a postive difference to our
society.
This group consits of young per-
sons who have a dream to see
Portmore as one of the pillars of
growth for Jamaica. Through
hard work we know that this
dream will become reality, it has
already begun with the forma-
tion of this organization.
Portmore is too beautiful
to be destroyed, too rich
to be poor, and too edu-
cated to be fools. We
must now make our
knowledge and technical
competence work for us.
We must by now realize
what is bad for our health
and try correcting them.
We must take a stand not

There is no doubt, the
strides that Portmore has
taken forward, it has
made tremendous pro-
gress and is still making
those progress.
We must say however,
that there are some dis-
appointments, these dis-
appointments have left a
bad taste in our mouths
and have tarnish what we
tirelessly try to build.
Crime, G2K believe has
been a major part in our
community not making
more progress.
G2K portmore have how-
ever decided to take a
brave step. This is by
tackling head on one of
our main problem, crime.
We, as a group along with
G2K Portmore is optimis-
tic of the future ahead of
us. We believe that Port-
more has great potential
yet untapped. This have
become of paramount
importance to us, as we
believe that it will take a
generation of visionaries
to harness this potential.

Portmore Chapter
Generation 2000 exemplifies a
new thinking for a new genera-
tion for a better Jamaica. Our
Chapter (Portmore G2K) has
seen the generally low levels
of interest among young peo-
ple as a grave concern in our
municipality. This we attribute
to views and conceptions
based on a restricted under-
standing of politics and lack of
trust in politicians to represent
their interests. They also feel
there is lack of opportunities
for them to engage politically.
The chapter has responded to
this misguided thinking with
the aim of stimulating their
political interest by affirming
the realisation that politics is of
relevance to them as they
grew older. What does partici-
pation mean; it means
contribution to and being
actively involved in work
progress on both social and
political level. As we embark
on a new initiative we seek to
make the involvement for the
young more intensive in the
municipality of Portmore by
making politics more interest-
ing; making politics easier to
understand and more accessi-
ble; making politicians more
responsive to the needs and
concerns of young peo-
ple; finding new opportunities
and routes for young people to
enter the political process. We
welcome you all and we invite
everyone to be a part of our
journey.

“The JLP has cut the
PNP's 19 per cent lead
in almost half in one
year and it could be
tough for the PNP
unless it start giving
people a reason to vote
for its candidates,"
We give thanks to the support we have received as a chapter from
our political representatives in and outside the of the Portmore areas.
With this help we know we can achieve our goal to see a better living
standard for the citizen of our beloved Jamaica.
The task we have started is not just for Portmore but will be dupli-
cated through the entire ST.Catherine to let the people of the Parish
know the tremendous work and accomplishments our political mem-
bers have done and achieved.
