AIM
To Make a Greenhouse Robot using microcontroller, sensors and motors.
INTRODUCTION The project consists of temperature and light
monitoring in a green house field and control the temperature at that field.
This unit is installed on a Robot which moves through the greenhouse field.
A display unit will show the values of parameters like Temperature and Light.
This project will consist of three basis modules. First is "Parameters Monitoring" second is "Parameters Controlling" and third is movement of Robot on a path.

Microcontroller
This is the most important segment of the project.
The microcontroller is AT89C51. It is responsible for controlling all the devices
attached to it. The AT89C51 is a low-power CMOS 8-bit
microcontroller
Cntd...
4K bytes of Flash programmable and erasable read only memory (PEROM).
128 bytes of RAM, 32 I/O lines, two 16-bit timer/counters.
Full duplex serial port. On-chip oscillator and clock circuitry.
Analog to Digital Convertor
We are going to use ADC 0808 which is 8 bit and 8 channel ADC.
Since we have two inputs for ADC, we have used this ADC.
0V to VCC input range. Outputs meet TTL voltage level specifications
TEMPERATURE SENSOR
LM 35 is the temperature sensor. Linear a 10.0 mV/degree C scale factor. Calibrated directly in degree Celsius. Suitable for remote applications. Low cost.
LIGHT DEPENDENT RESISTOR
Two cadmium sulphide photoconductive cells with spectral responses similar to that of the human eye.
The cell resistance falls with increasing light intensity.
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY
LM016L is used as LCD. It is a 16 character 2 lines LCD. Controller LSI HD44780 is built in.
MOTOR DRIVER
L293D is the motor driver. Wide Supply-Voltage Range: 4.5 V to 36 V. It is a quadruple high-current half-H driver. It is designed to provide bidirectional drive
currents of up to 1 A. All inputs are TTL compatible.
DC MOTORS
DC Gear motor is used for the movement of Robot.
Voltage – 12V RPM – 60rpm
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
CNTD...
Advantages
Simple interface Low cost High speed Low programming overhead.
DISADVANTAGES
High cost for high resolution Not all microcontroller have analog
input/output built-in. Employees will require training in
programming and interacting with the new robotic equipment
Applications
To calculate and control the temperature and light of the environment in the greenhouse.
Same unit can be used in the industry to control the temperature and light of various units in the industry.
