About Fair Trade Certification
Fair Trade USA
Fair Trade USA (formerly named TransFair
USA) is the leading independent, third-party
certifier of Fair Trade products in the United
States. Fair Trade USA audits and certifies
transactions between U.S. companies that
offer Fair Trade Certified products and their
international suppliers to guarantee
compliance with Fair Trade principles.
Every Purchase Matters
The Fair Trade Certified™ label offers
consumers a simple way to know that their
products were produced in a socially-
responsible manner. The third-party
verification guarantees that strict social,
economic and environmental standards
have been met.
So much of the developing world today faces the situation of absolute poverty.

Typically vineyard workers have no say in how much they are paid even though a
high commodity product like wine should make enough profit to pay workers well.

“I am the parent of a child at CCM Nanyuki Primary School. I appreciate the help Fair
Trade has given us through donation of desks to be used by our children. The new
classrooms that have been constructed makes the school look clean and our children
now stay in a clean environment and thus they don’t get dirty like before. We give thanks
to you for your generous help because our old classroom building was almost falling
down.” The radiant smile of her son who is a direct beneficiary relates their gratitude
without a doubt.
