  • The aim of green electronics is to create paths for the production of human- and environmentally friendly electronics in general and the integration of such electronic circuits.

  • Electronics that are designed to have low or no adverse impact on the environment are considered to be green electronics.

  • 3.WHY GREEN ELECTRONICS?E-WASTE: Electronics which are destined for reuse, resale, salvage, recycling, or disposal.

  • Electronic waste affects human body because they contain toxic components including Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, Polybrominate Flame Retardants, Barium and Lithium.

  • 4.WHY ''LEAD'' IN ELECTRONICS?90% OF ELECTRONIC GOODS ARE MADE OF LEAD.

LEAD IS THE GLUE THAT BINDS SEMICONDUCTOR MATERIALS TO MAKE THEM WORK EFFICIENTLY.

LEAD CAN BE EASILY REMOULDED AND REFINED.

TO MEET PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT IN COST EFFICIENT MANNER.

NATURAL PROPERTIES: 1.LOW MELTING POINT 2.HIGH STRENGTH 3.CORROSION RESISTANT 4.LONG LIFE

  • LEAD is toxic mainly because it replaces other metals (e.g., zinc, calcium and iron) in biochemical reactions. EXAMPLE: Lead displaces calcium and transmit electrical impulses in the brain, which is diminishes your ability to think or recall information, or makes you stupid.

  • 1.RECYCLING of e-waste is the best method to obtain greener products.

2.It simply removes the hazards into secondary products that eventually have to be disposed of.

  • 1.INCINERATION:Burning of e WASTE

    2.LAND FILLING:Burying of e WASTE

  • 1.Look for the Energy Star mark to identify energy saving electronic devices.

2.Try and avoid products that require special tools for dismantling and repair.3.Try and avoid electronics that contain foam, coatings, or paint as these can contaminate other parts and restrict recycling.

  • 4.Make sure that the product doesnt have any components that are glued to it, as it causes hindrance in proper dismantling of the product during recycling.5.Finally, check whether the product can be easily recycled or not.
