• There are two types of vase decorations

• Red-figured have red figures on a black background

• The Black-figured have black figures on a red background

• The red color is the color of the clay and the black is the paint or glaze.

Greek Sculpture• Ancient Greeks were

masters at sculpture.• Their sculptures are

very realistic.• Sculptors carved into

marble and stone.• Most were probably

painted in bright colors, but have now faded and worn off.
