Although this task is very difficult but the above goal can be achieved if all the programme managers involved in RNTCP and health care providers make effort to diagnose, treat and cure tuberculosis in the community. Since 2007 India has been achieving a treatment success rate of more than 85% and case detection rate of 70%. Encouraged by these achievements Govt. of India has gone for universal access of TB cure and Control of Every TB Patients including the missed ones whether detected at a Govt. or Private Health Facility. RNTCP Scenario in Kashmir Division. RNTCP in Kashmir division of J&K State is rated by programme implementers at the National Level as a successfully running programme yielding satisfactory results. Significant progress has been made in TB Cure and Control in Kashmir division of J&K Sate. Achievements during 2013-14: About 5100 patients have been diagnosed as tuberculosis. Sputum positive are 3096. Sputum negative 664. Extra Pulmonary 1340. Treatment Success rate has been maintained above 85%. A rapid diagnostic tool Gene-Xpert has been installed and is functional in IRL Lab. Srinagar for diagnosis of drug resistance TB Patients. Dots plus Sites are already functional at CD Hospital Srinagar and SNM Hospital Leh for MDR Patients & to avoid inconvenience to such patients Link-DRTB Wards have been identified at more places in the valley. Additional 11 Tuberculosis Units and 9 Designated Microscopy Centre's have been established. Online Enrollment of TB Patients in Nikshay is being done actively which helps us to ascertain the magnitude of Tuberculosis. 80% of HIV screening of TB patients has been done and efforts are being made to achieve 100% in future. S National Level Zonal OR Workshop of Medical Colleges was conducted in Kashmir division at SKIMS Soura on Sep. 2013. More than 90% of Drug Resistant TB Patients have been converted and are clinically cured. Vision and Targets (2014-17) To reach to all the "Missed Cases" of TB in the community and to make Kashmir TB free. Reduce the burden of TB until it is no longer a major health problem Universal access to be adopted ensuring diagnosis and treatment of all TB Patients. This year 2014 WORLD TB DAY has come up with the theme "Reach the Missed Three Million".
