Positioned centrally between Melbourne and Adelaide, the Greater Hamilton region is perfectly placed to bring people together, boasting venues and attractions to ensure your event is remembered as being welcoming, educational, collegial and inspiring.

The natural appeal of the region includes the spectacular Grampians ranges, picturesque waterfalls, volcanic plains and red-gum dotted rolling hills of pastures.

And while Hamilton is the region’s main centre, our regional villages give organisers plenty of opportunity to enjoy the distinctive charisma and character on offer.

Venues within the region can cater for events of all sizes and themes. From conference room facilities beneath the majestic Grampians ranges that provide a space to inspire; to racecourses and open public areas with facilities to accommodate thousands. The Greater Hamilton region is one place with many possibilities.

Events which require day trip activities can take advantage of Greater Hamilton’s location within a 90 minute drive of some of Australia’s major tourist destinations including the Great Ocean Road and the Coonawarra Wine Region.

Greater Hamilton is the number one choice destination when hosting an event in a location with everything and close to so much more.

Hamilton Botanic Gardens

one of Victoria’s most outstanding regional civic gardens, the Hamilton Botanic Gardens are rightly recognised as an important part of Victoria’s heritage.

The first plantings at the site took place in 1870, but a more formalised plan was developed a decade late by William Guilfoyle, the curator of the Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens.

With its towering oaks and manicured lawns, the Hamilton Botanic Gardens blend English-style grandeur with a strong welcoming feel. Explore a range of historical sites including the caretakers cottage, a band rotunda (c.1900), a 1920 memorial fountain and a canon from the HMVS Nelson (c.1860s). Throughout the seasons the Gardens are open every day.

Grampians Retreat Team Building Group initiatives or challenges - these activities are designed to increase a participant’s ability to be an effective member of a group. They are a series of tasks which require the input of the whole group in order to solve a particular physical challenge. These initiatives bring out leadership skills and personal achievements.

rogaining - a map navigational exercise for teams, involving reading of grid references and finding locations which hold signage at certain points of the area. The secret to Rogaining is planning your route before embarking, to achieve the highest possible score.

unholy alliance - (4 way tug of war). An excellent, very energetic competitive group activity with lots of laughs to be had by all. Four teams compete hauling one of four pulling ropes attached to a centre ring. Is it pure physical strength or methodology?

archery & the low ropes challenge course, Giant Swing - Team building sessions can be incorporated into these.

…and what better end to a day by being under the stars at the campfire, after some darkness challenges and reflector trails!
