Ike 4 th Grade Weekly News March 12 th -16 th *In math, we will be taking our Mid-Module 5 Assessment on Monday. After completing our assessment we will be adding or subtracting fractions from a whole number and adding fractions to build fractions greater than 1. *In social studies, we are starting our final region study on the Northeast Region. We will be learning about climate and natural resources of the region as well as studying the map to learn state location. *In writing, we will begin our research unit this week. *In science, we will begin our Organisms in the Environment Unit. *In reading, we will continue to focus on metacognition (thinking about our thinking) while reading and do some more Close & Critical Reading practicing. Vocab list #13 is in our ELA itslearning course and on Spelling City. The spelling lists are 20, 8a, or 26c. Spelling may be adjusted starting next week based on student progress on their current lists. I will send letters home to those students affected. This Week Notes and Reminders Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday. If your child is not scheduled for a conference, you still have the opportunity to pick up their report card in the gym on Thursday. Please have them bring their iPads so they can review their goals with you as you look over their work. iPads will be available at that time if your child does not bring home their iPads. *Headphones/Ear buds Many of the students no longer have useable headphones or earbuds for class. It is difficult for them to complete work without disturbing others. The students may purchase new earbuds at school for $3.00. Homework Please check your child’s green folder daily for homework.
