Prayer Before Worship

O God, the Protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is

strong and nothing is holy, increase and multiply your mercy on us that

with you as our Ruler and Guide we may so pass through things temporal

that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our

Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and

forever. Amen!

THE LORD’S SUPPER

Here our Lord gives to us His own Body and Blood

for the forgiveness of all our sins

Our Grace Family celebrates The Lord’s Supper on the 1st

and 3rd

Sundays of the month, confessing that our Lord feeds us with His

very body and blood for our forgiveness.

Please read carefully:

The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at Grace in the confession and glad confidence

that, as He says, our Lord gives into our mouths not only bread and wine but

His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the

forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and one another.

Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His words, repent of all sin, and

set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us, that

they may show forth His death until He comes.

Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood unworthily do

so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the

faith which is confessed at the Altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt

or who hold a confession differing from that of Grace and The

Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the

Sacrament, are asked first to speak with the Pastor or an Elder.

If anyone is interested in knitting or crocheting hats,

scarves and mittens for a charity called TLC (Tender

Loving Care) for children in Appalachia, I have

patterns. I also have some yarn you could use. Please

CHURCH HISTORIAN

Grace is looking for an individual to fill the position of Church Historian.

Responsibilities include: to gather, organize, maintain and preserve documents

and photographs of historic value for future generations. If interested,

please stop by the church office for a job description.

Compassion Pregnancy has two events coming up…

Golf Fore Life - Monday, August 31, 2015: This is our 18th year and the entire course has been reserved for our golfers.

Sign up to audition for “Pearls of Wisdom”: This is a new fundraising event celebrating parenthood. This forum will give an opportunity to tell your story, whether it be with laughter, inspiration or poignancy that comes from being a child or parent.
