Next Meeting Wednesday, October 2, at King’s, Harmarville
Board Meeting 7:00 pm, General Meeting 7:30 pm
Greetings Pony Lovers—
It’s hard to believe summer’s already winding down. It seems like only yesterday we were having our Spring Stampede - and now the Fall Foliage Tour is just around the corner. Be sure to get those Ponies out as much as you can over the next few weeks, before the 2013 season is over.
A small, enthusiastic group of five members volunteered at our Starlite Service Night in August. The folks at Northway Christian Community were most appreciative for our assistance. Ponies made their presence known even though it was Chevy Nite.
We had a great turnout at the GPMC Night at the Races event at the Motordrome Speed-way. Someone there was filming while our
Mustangs were on the track. You can see the video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPXA9e8V_lE
The track event at the Pgh Int’l Race Com-plex (the old BeaveRun) with the PACE Camaro Club on Sept. 28th HAS BEEN CAN-CELLED. Jeff and Denise hope to try the event again next year.
Based on advance registrations, our Fall Fo-liage Tour on October 19th looks to be a re-cord turnout. Tim informs me there are nearly 50 cars signed up, so be sure to let him know if you plan to attend.
It’s not too early to start thinking about elections. Terms are up for all five officers (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer & MCA Rep,) Merchandise Director, Newsletter Edi-tor and two Board members. Please let Ed or me know if you’re interested in one of these positions.
We wrapped up our outdoor meeting sched-ule on September 4th in North Park. We’ll be back at King’s in Harmarville on October 2nd. We’ve arranged with King’s to have
more seating available, so let’s make sure we have a good turnout.
Keep those motors runnin’,
Ken

River Car Club Council (TRCCC) keeps clubs up-to-date on issues.
MCA: Ed absent. For Ed, Ken mentioned the Grand National Show will be held in Columbus, Ohio on Sept. 4-6, 2015.
Ken reminded the members if they joined the MCA to send Ed your MCA number and expiration date. Bill R. reported
that Ed accepted our seventh consecutive President’s Award for 2012 and our eighth total. Bill and ValJean R. also re-
ported five cars traveled to Disney (Florida) to participate in the MCA Grand National show. Bill and ValJean received
a Gold. Ed S. and Tim B. each received a 1st in class. Ken S. received a 2nd in class, and Russ S. was display only.

and Dwight represented the Yellow Mustang Registry. The full report is the September Newsletter. Ken discussed the
Service Night at Starlite (Chevy night) in Wexford, and five GPMC members volunteered to help.
GPMC NEWS October 2013 Page 3
Motordrome Track Event: Tim absent. For Tim, Dwight reported there is a pit tour and the motorcade is limited to 18
cars with 10 minutes of track time. More people watch the motorcade than the race.
Activities/Upcoming Events: For Charlyn, Ken reported the Holiday Party will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, at the
Hyeholde Restaurant in Moon Twp. Cocktails will be at 4:30 and the sit-down dinner is scheduled for 5:30. She is
working on the details.
Jeff and Dwight discussed the PACE Camaro Club’s two events scheduled for Sept. 28. Pittsburgh Area Camaro En-
thusiasts (PACE) is reportedly having a cruise on the same date at Vincentian Academy on McKnight Road. They do
not know the full status of this.
PACE’s second event will be at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PIRC), formerly BeaveRun, on Sat., Sept.
28, Turnpike Exit 13. Karting is reserved from 1:30-3:30. Cost is $20/hr./person./neck guards/jackets are supplied. Par-
ticipants must wear long pants and closed shoes. This is on a first come basis. Track cross on the North Track is re-
served from 12:30-4:30. Cost is $60/car. This is a timed run where participants can do solo runs or run with an instruc-
tor; no other riders are allowed. Helmets are required (can be rented at the track). If your car is a convertible, it must
have a roll bar. Participants will pay at the gate for one or both events; spectators are free. along snacks or lunch and
beverages as there are only vending machines onsite. Contact Jeff and Denise, as soon as possible, at
[email protected] or Dwight if you think you might attend so they can get an idea of how many to expect.
Dwight mentioned there will be a Car Cruise for Jazzy at the Guardian Storage facility in 340 Old Haymaker Road,
Monroeville on Sept. 14, 12 to 4 PM. He is helping to coordinate the event and will also be the DJ. This is a fundraising
event for Jasmine who has a rare bone cancer. There is no entrance fee but donations are appreciated. They need volun-
teers to help parking cars and would like to have a good showing of GPMC members attend. Let him know if you can
help.
Fall Foliage Tour: Tim absent. Per Ken, the tour is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19. Scheduled sites are covered
bridges through Washington County and the Trolley Museum in Washington, PA. This will be a picnic lunch. Atten-
dees should RSVP to Tim - he will e-mail details to everyone who signed up. Cost for the Trolley Museum is $9. Jennie
pointed out that events other than the hospitality picnic should be for members, not open to the general public. She re-
ceived inquiries from non-members who want to attend. Comments can be made on our website. Per Ken, Tim could
squeeze them on the tour but they must be members. Mary suggested members should be considered first, and then
guests of members added as space allows.
Old Business: The GPMC generic business cards are available. Also, members who attend 8 or 9 meetings are eligible
for attendance awards.
New Business: Ken reminded members about the club elections this fall. If anyone is interested in running for office,
please let Ed or him know. All Officer positions are available, as well as Newsletter Editor, Merchandise Director, and
two Board seats.
Other: Terry R. won the 50/50. A musical replica of Mt. Rushmore was raffled off and was won by Jason. Next
meeting will be on Wed., Oct. 2, at Kings Restaurant in Harmarville.
Adjournment: It was moved by Jeff B. and 2nd by Jerry S. to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
