Message Gotta Blame Someone

How Great Is Our God

Praise & Petition

I WANT ANSWERS!

When circumstances push us

outside our accepted zones of comfort, we often become upset with God— as though he should know, and respect, that we don’t like being uncomfortable!

Then the questions start: Why this? Why me? Why now?

Lord, what are you doing?

For most of us, frustration slowly gives way to faith… trust in God that he knows

what he is doing and hasn’t abandoned us. Sometimes we just need

to be reminded that indeed his ways and thoughts are so much higher than ours.

See Isaiah 55.8

What’s it like for you? Is your heart ruled by fear and frustration right now?

Or are you in a yielded place, a place of rest in who God is

and what God wills? I know the plans I have for you.

That’s what God says, and his plan is to prosper.

He doesn’t plan harm. He plans the very best…always.

See Jeremiah 29.11

When times are turbulent, let’s trust in the Lord!

We are Cherry Tree Alliance.

LOVING GOD,

LOVING YOU!

GOTTA BLAME SOMEONE What Is God Saying?

I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God.

I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster;

I the LORD, do all these things. Isaiah 45.5a, 7 (NIV)

Abstract: There really is only one “theory of everything.” All roads lead us back to the Sovereign God, Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. This means that even the bad things in our lives, the things that cause us pain and distress, things that confuse and dismay, also come under his benevolent authority.

Your notes and comments:

His wife said to him, “Are you still holding on to your integrity?

Curse God and die!” He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”

Job 2.9-10 (NIV)

Easter Offering Please note that all monies collected in this year’s

Easter offering will go to our Benevolent Fund. You can submit an Easter offering through the mail

in your colored “Easter” envelopes or in regular envelopes clearly labeled “Easter,” or online by selecting Benevolent for the fund. Thank you to

all those who have already contributed!

Capacity Youth Ministry Capacity will not meet at the church on Wednesday nights

until further notice; however, we are offering a virtual gathering during our regularly scheduled time (6:30 PM

on Wednesdays) using Zoom Video Conferencing YouTube Live Videos. The youth, with adult permission, will need to

download the zoom app on their phone or use this address to create an account on a computer laptop or tablet: https://zoom.us/signup.

Instructions will be texted to students and parents - if you are unsure if your child receives the texts, please reach out to Joshua Mitchell.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you partner with us in prayer as we continue to organize and

approach the youth in different ways.

Moms In Prayer Our Moms In Prayer group is still praying together Mondays at 6:00 PM by telephone. If you would

like to pray with these ladies for the special children in your life (whether your own children or grandchildren, nieces or nephews, or other kids

that hold a special place in your heart!), please private message Teresa Berenbrok on Facebook or notify the church office

at [email protected].

Virtual Kids Ministry There will be no Kids Church on Sunday mornings until

further notice; however, we will be posting and interacting online in a lot of ways! We encourage our

families, as much as you are able, to join us online so we can help our kids stay connected with our

church family and with God’s word during this time!

If you are not already a part of our Cherry Tree Facebook page for kids, please search under “CTAC Kids ” to find us and

join our group. Here is our posting schedule:

Sundays - 1:00 PM Children’s Church Tuesdays - 2:30 PM Visit from Cubbie Bear (AWANA Cubbies)

Wednesdays - “What Is It Wednesday?” (guessing game) 7:00 PM Virtual AWANA

Thursdays - Guest post! (every other week) Fridays - What will Ethan do?! (every other week)

A fun segment where kids can comment on Thursdays for silly things they’d like to see Ethan do. We will put them all in a hat and

choose something Ethan has to do. Saturdays - Fun in a Jar

We’ll draw a slip of paper from a jar that will give us a special craft, activity, or science experiment to try!

Watch our page for other special posts & activities throughout the week.

Next Sunday, May 3rd will be the final day to turn in videos & photos for our CTAC Kids Facebook contest.

On May 10th, we will announce our Round One contest winners!

Book Club: We will meet by Zoom TODAY, April 26th at 4:00 PM. Please contact Miss Jen if you are in need of

Zoom meeting instructions.

AWANA Club Members

Please note that our last day of AWANA for our 2019-2020 year

will be this Wednesday, April 29th! Please send in your videos & photos by this Wednesday to receive credit.

Parents

You may VIDEO your child saying their sections, verses, completing their written work, etc. AND please send it to Jen Genovese either through Facebook Messenger, e-mail (below), or text if you have an iPhone (because Jen practically lives in a cave and cannot get any

text messages unless it’s iPhone to iPhone while at home!).

Include in your video: the page(s) and or section(s) you are completing. If it is written work, you may send photographs

rather than videos.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Jen. Thank you!

Annual Congregational Meeting - Date TBD We are postponing the annual congregational meeting

until we know better the anticipated end of social distancing in our nation. We are discussing options for conducting

our elections; more information coming soon.

Digital copies of the Annual Report were e-mailed to our church family. If you did not receive a copy & you would like one, please e-mail [email protected]. Printed copies will be available

soon after we begin meeting together again. Thank you!

Please pray for our international workers of the week, Kent & Christine Copeland, who serve in Cambodia.

They ask for prayer in the following areas of their ministry: “1) Pray that the leadership of the Living Water Church will continue to grow strong, that the people will be zealous for Christ, love each other,

and come out stronger from the winepress that we are currently experiencing because of Covid 19. 2) Please pray for the Body of

Christ in Cambodia, that it will hold strong against the spirit of this age and Materialism - standing strong in love and unity. May God teach us

what it means to truly be the Body of Christ, caring for the 'least' of these. 3) Please pray for our parents, who we would love to be with. It can be very lonely restricted to your home. 4) Please pray for our

kids. We have increased from 5 to 8, with the 3 oldest having married over the last few years. What a blessing to have 4 of them serving with us in Cambodia! They have left the potential for making money in the USA in order to help Mom and Dad be able to serve the needy here.

It is our fondest desire to see all our children following the Lord and raising godly families.”

FCCAA Empty Bowls Fundraiser - Canceled Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FCCAA's 7th

Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser, originally scheduled for today, April 26th, has been canceled. If you

purchased tickets online, please watch for an email. If you have questions, you can contact Lora at 724-430-6426.

2020 Church Directory

When we are back to meeting together again in person, we plan to provide printed copies of our text-only directory and photo directories,

updated for 2020. In the meantime, we wanted to mention the following:

1.If you would like a PDF copy of the 2020 text-only directory e-mailed to you, please contact [email protected]. Please note

that any electronic copy of our directory will only be provided to regular church attendees and not distributed to anyone “unknown.”

We can also provide our 2019 photo directory by e-mail if you would like a copy.

2. In preparation for a new edition of our photo directory, we would like to begin collecting photos. If you have not yet submitted a

photo to us, we strongly urge you to consider doing so this year. It can serve as a super helpful tool for our church family as they try to connect

names with faces, especially as we’ve added several new families since the publication of our 2019 photo directory. We also welcome anyone who wants to submit an updated photo to do so…especially if you have young kids who have been growing up at lightning pace!

Please e-mail your photos to [email protected] by May 10th. Please choose a photo where your face / your family’s faces are

the primary focus, in as high a resolution as possible.

3. We would like to offer a new component to our 2020 directories: a business section of companies owned by our church family,

services offered (such as an independent contractor, housekeeping service, etc.), or local small businesses where our church family is employed. Please note that the purpose of such

a directory is NOT a discount seeking tool; rather, the intent is to encourage a sense of community & support for our fellow brothers &

sisters in Christ by making you aware of available resources. Please note that this listing is also NOT an endorsement of a business or service by Cherry Tree Alliance Church. We are merely providing the business contact information. If you would like to submit your company

or service for listing in the business portion of our directory, please send the following info to [email protected] by May 10th:

Business name Church attendee associated with business

Description of business or service (examples: “Christian counseling services”

or “Graphic design business”) Business address Business phone Business e-mail

Business website

Join us today in praying boldly for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. We think especially today of essential workers who continue to serve their communities, even in a time of anxiety. We think also of those

who are eager to return to the workplace, and pray for financial provision for those suffering loss from the current restrictions

on businesses.
