Chracters• SerenaSerena is a nice girl which tries to get her live sorted. She is changing from a party girl to a

responsible woman.• Blair Blair is always defending her positions as the queen of all the other girls. She is Serena’s best friend and in love with Chuck.

• Chuck Chuck is Nate’s best friend and he is always looking for nice girls. He is a real womanizer.

• Nate Nate is Chuck’s best friend. He is a nice guy and is always trying to do the right things. He has a lot of influence by his family.

• DanDan is not a rich boy. He is living in Brooklyn with his sister Jenny. They are trying to get involved in the group of the rich ones.

• JennyJenny, the sister of Dan is living in Brooklyn as well. She is trying to get into Blair’s group.

Theme/Narrative

Gossip Girl is about 6 teenagers which are living on the upper east side. Actually it’s about their normal live and their problems. There also is a website which is called “Gossip Girl” and this website is telling facts about the 6 Teenagers. Not all of it is true but most of the thing “she” is saying brings disturbance into their friendship. No one knows who Gossip Girl is.

Iconography

The audience can always se a clear image of the character. If there are scenes with emotions in they normally use a close up. The colours are bright and light most of the time to show that they have a nice live. If someone is sad, the lighting is low to show how the character is feeling.

Technical aspect

The camera work for example is used in a good way. The moves are smooth and the angles are well chosen. Through the technical aspects the positions of the characters are well shown. Blair for example is the “queen” of Constans and she is always sitting up the stairs. The angle of the camera is well chosen because it shows her from below which makes her looking powerful.
