Once again, we are at the time of New Year’s resolutions and trying to hold onto them into 2019. I think the above reflects what God’s expectation might be as we move into a new year of possibility. God has created each of us as a very unique, never to be repeated, creation with many gifts and potentials. Somehow along the path of living much of that uniqueness gets lost. That can occur through the messages others give us about ourselves – some that might belittle, some that might redirect us, some that come through circumstances out of our control, and so on. No matter how they came, they have changed our sense of self, our choices and our life path. We find ourselves feeling like a square peg in a round hole – vaguely dissatisfied and not sure why. That dissatisfaction comes from being out of sync with who God created you to be and not doing what you were prepared to do. So, here are some questions to reflect on and journal about (if you are so inclined) as you enter the new year What is the one thing that you do that makes you feel energized and alive? What brings a smile to your face? Who when you are around them causes you to light up and want to know more? What would you do if you weren’t afraid? What are those moments when you feel most comfortable in yourself, most at peace? When our life and the movements of living bring energy rather than fatigue or dread, when we are excited in anticipation of a new day, when what we are doing energizes and brings fulfillment, then we know we are living into God’s preparation. My prayer for each of you is that you will be all you were meant to be! And I will continue to try to do the same Pastor Heather

Shalom

I received the above through a Facebook group of which I am a part called “Mindful Christianity”.

So, here are some questions to reflect on and journal about (if you are so inclined) as you enter the new year

What is the one thing that you do that makes you feel energized and alive? What brings a smile to your face? Who when you are around them causes you to light up and want to know more? What would you do if you weren’t afraid? What are those moments when you feel most comfortable in yourself, most at peace?

When our life and the movements of living bring energy rather than fatigue or dread, when we are excited in anticipation of a new day, when what we are doing energizes and brings fulfillment, then we know we are living into God’s preparation.

My prayer for each of you is that you will be all you were meant to be! And I will continue to try to do the same

Winter weather is upon us. When there is inclement weather, be sure to check to see if Worship has been cancelled.

Cancellations can be heard on KTTC TV, KXLT TV and KNXR and KFSI Radio Stations.

We will also send out e-mails to those who we have e-mail addresses. If school is closed or closes early, there will not activities at the church that evening.

Please be safe this winter!

Keeping our church clean is everyone’s job. When you use an area, please be sure that any food related trash is removed and the area is put back in order as it was when you began.

Now that Jon, Mark and Sue are no longer here,

we need your help..

Please sign up on the clipboard to help keep our church

clean. Thank you.

Thank you for your generous donations to the Hometown Resource Center.

Our “adopt a families” are so grateful for the their gifts. St. Charles UMC purchased gifts for 9 children and gave $225 for food and gas.

While any and all donations are so appreciated, fruit is a vitamin filled food for winter. Let’s fill the shelves with canned fruits. If you would rather, money is a gladly accepted and well used.

Carol Mueske is volunteering to go to Channel One each week to pick up food . We need a backup person. Please consider this mission and contact Carol to help.
