Once upon a time, there was a little boy called Jimmy, who lived with his mother in a tiny cottage.
Early one morning, Jimmy opened his old cupboard and he found an enormous aeroplane. It looked intriguing, beautiful and fast. He didn’t remember leaving it in there but he thought it looked spectacular so he took it for a go right away. The plane lifted off the ground climbing higher and higher and higher.
Suddenly, the plane spluttered. What did those wild flashing lights mean? Oh no! The plane had run out of petrol. Unfortunately, the boy was stuck on the moon. What was he going to do? He was alone and very afraid.

Up in space, a Martian’s engine had also broken down. He was hurtling towards a flickering, shimmering light when suddenly… He crash-landed on the moon with an almighty BANG!
Jimmy was terrified when he heard the spaceship’s rumble but soon he felt relieved because he wasn’t alone any more. Bravely, he walked and he walked until he reached the strange space ship. Smoke was bellowing out of the side and he could hear someone calling for help.

As their eyes got used to the dark, Jimmy and the Martian saw that they had met someone else in trouble. Together, they tried to think of a plan to get off the moon. Working as a team, Jimmy fixed the Martian’s engine while the Martian helped to refill Jimmy’s petrol tank.
They said goodbye, thanked each other for their help and wondered if they’d ever meet again. After a long night, they were finally off the moon and both on their way back home

Maths
We are going to be finding fractions of numbers. The division work you did last week is really going to help you for today’s Maths!
You can use your multiplication and division facts and your knowledge of halving numbers.
Or, we can divide (share) the amount into groups, like we did for division. We have looked at all of this before, but there is recap for you on the next
few slides.

the moon. He and Aldrin walked around for three hours. They did
experiments. They picked up bits of moon dirt and rocks. They put a
U.S. flag on the moon. They also left a sign on the moon.
