OverviewOverview

The book I read was Your 15th Club by Dr. Bob Rotella. This book was amazing, it helped me a lot with the mental aspect of golf.

I interviewed former PGA professional, local pro Chris Rigdon.

The coolest thing I learned was that your sub-conscience unlike your conscience can be lied to. Also, that in golf there is no such thing as perfect, and when players strive to be perfect they fall and fall hard.

Final ThoughtsFinal Thoughts

First off I learned that in order to have strong confidence you can’t belittle yourself for every little mistake on the course.

Perfection is unobtainable, plus golf is more fun when you don’t worry about how your playing.

Lastly no one shot is more important than another, you should treat every shot the same. Whether it’s a 2 footer to win the Masters or a chunked chip on the 18th hole during your Club Championship, you have to treat them the same.

My final opinion, but first off psychology is the study of the mind, golf is one of the most mental games being played today. So in turn having a strong mental game is just about as important as having your putter. Because without the mental game you wouldn’t be able to finish a round on account of either all your clubs are broken or you have gone and had a breakdown and your stuck on the 8th tee in the fetal position.

Changes I Would Have Changes I Would Have MadeMade

I would have liked to do a survey and ask people of other sports how important is it to have a strong mental game while they play and see their response.

For my interview I talked to Chris Rigdon, he is on up there in age. So, during my interview he would talk about stuff that nothing to do with my question. Basically I would have liked to interview someone a little younger and someone who isn’t crazy.
