Triathalon training

I loved getting wet in the pool. It was fun

because I got wet when I ran in the water.

Thursday

Today we all hopped in the pool for Triathlon train-

ing. We ran in the water fast. Next we ran to the

back field. We had to go around two times in the

pool. I liked getting wet in the water. I had to go

fast in the water and climb out of the pool. It was

fun doing triathalon training.

Motupipi School Triathlon - 20th March

Triathlon Training

From tomorrow through to next Wednesday. There will be triathlon training for all chil-

dren during the 1.30pm -2pm break for 15 minutes,. Children will need togs, shoes for

running and if possible their bike /scooter. (Beach shoes are great but not crocs please)

If bikes /scooters are to be left at school the children can put them in their classroom

each night for safe keeping.

Motupipi School Triathalon

The Motupipi Triathlon for all Motupipi children will be held next Thursday 2oth March

at the Pohara Beach Motor Camp.

The event will involve a short swim or wade followed by a bike or scooter ride and then a

run to the finish.

The day’s plan is 10.00 am

Leave Motupipi by bus for Pohara camp

Arrive and ensure bike or scooter is lined up between the correct age signs. Put helmet

on bike / scooter

Staff to walk age groups around the course

Before taking each group to the beach, children are to put their shoes / t shirt by their

bike, unless already wearing them in the swim.

Before getting on their bike or scooter, children will need to put on shoes, helmet and T-

shirt, unless wearing a wetsuit / rash vest from the swim . Shoes must be worn on the

run.

Bikes or scooters are suitable for 5 & 6 yr races as it is all on tarseal. The 7 -10 years

are on tarseal, grass and shingle, which would be hard on a scooter and more suitable for

bikes

Once events are over we will have some time out on the beach and return back to school

around 2.00pm

If you wish to drop the bike /scooter earlier at the camp, you may do so .There will be

age signs for the placement of bikes, which will be set up early in the morning by the

beach entry opposite the playground..

If your child needs to borrow a bike /scooter on the day please let us know by next

Thursday so we can arrange someone from another age group to share.

If you have a trailer and are able to transport bikes / scooters to Pohara, please let us

know as there could be a few to transport.

We will also need a few parents to help around the track when your child isn’t racing,

especially at the bike transition areas.

Room 2 have been writing some fantastic stories this week!
