Each year the children are on a Quest to be the Best through a whole school policy – there is a

heavy focus on personal targets a and character building. One way to achieve this is through PE

and we work alongside the values of: Pride, Optimisim, Wisdom, Energy & Respect.

Our Quest in 2012

• In 2012 we recognised there was a need within our school and community to improve our general health, physical activity, fitness and competition success.

• We launched a number of initiatives across both key stages to raise attainment.

How Goldbeaters have used the PE premium.d

1. To train further and use QTS specialist teachers to deliver high quality curriculum PE, take intervention

groups to bring less able on and extend the more able and provide professional development for all teachers

regularly.2. To provide over 30 clubs to pupils free of charge so 100%

can access extra curricular (currently at 92%) and increase competition

participation.

Outcome: Increased competency, core strength, agility, concentration & understanding of physical literacy. Evident in assessment and KS2 base line data and achievement.

Weekly sessions in KS1 including Reception from January.8-9 Stations. Each station encourages children to explore and discover movement through differentiated equipment and teacher guided questioning. The stations allow children to discover movement in the 3 core areas of Physical Literacy: Stability, Object Control and Locomotion.
