Hi D-2 Chapter! We had a Great time with friends this year doing rides, trips and dinners. Thanks to everyone that contributed to the success of the activities as this is what makes it FUN!!! D-2 Chapter is only as Great as its members and we truly have Fantastic members! Hope your winter is a blast and for you snowbirds, keep riding those bikes- you are luckier than me!!! Think about the rides and trips for next year you want to do while looking at the snow, and share them at our next ride planning meeting. Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! St. Martin’s Healthcare accepts clean empty prescription bottles with the labels removed. It is a worthy project to save prescription bottles to help their cause and would not cost us a penny!! Please bring yours to any gathering; Gwen Lamley will deliver them.

SOFT CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES

4 cups sugar

2 cups Crisco

4 eggs

2 cups buttermilk

2 tsp. soda

4 tsp. baking powder

2 tbsp. vanilla

8 cups flour

Cream sugar, shortening. Add eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Must refrigerate -

preferably overnight. The secret to this dough is keeping it chilled, it's a very soft

dough. Take a little out of the bowl and place on floured sink top or pie board. Treat

it similar to pie crust as far as handling goes, you may need to sprinkle with a little

flour and roll to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a floured cookie cutter. Work

with small amounts in order to keep dough chilled. Have patience and you will be

rewarded with beautiful cookies. Bake 350 degrees - watch - do not brown (only

lightly on bottom). Can freeze and frost later.

TWAS THE NITE BEFORE A GWRRA CHRISTMAS

Twas the nite before Christmas,when all through the chapter

Not a Goldwinger was stirring, not even the Director.

Their helmets were hung by the door with care,

In hopes that good riding days soon would be there;

The D-2 members were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of chrome accessories danced in their heads;

And Debbie in her kerchief, and Rick in his cap,

Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap-

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

They sprang from their bed to see what was the matter.

What to his wondering eyes should appear,

But Santa’s sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

Debbie yelled down: “Hey Santa , Why all the fuss?”

Santa replied”The sleigh’s too heavy, Christmas’s gonna be a bust.”

Rick grabbed his Gold Book and told Santa not to worry,

“I’ll call my GW friends, they’ll be here in a hurry.”

Hello Steve; Hello Bob, Hello Rob and Dan,

Call all the others; tell them to get here as fast as they can.

Within the hour Santa was fast on his way,

With eight shiny Goldwings pulling his sleigh.

We heard him exclaim, ere he flew out of sight;

“MERRY CHRISTMAS GOLDWINGERS-

YOU’VE SAVED THE NIGHT!!”
