Goa Portuguesa came into being on 3rd December 1988. It was started by Dr. Suhas Awchat with the able
support of his wife Deepa, with the sole intention of serving and popularising ethnic Goan food among food-
crazy Mumbaikars. In addition to serving the iconic Goan dishes such as Vindalho and Balchao, Goa
Portuguesa offers a wide variety of traditional Hindu vegetarian dishes, thus dispelling the myth that Goans
eat only fish and pork.
Twenty-Five years young, today Goa Portuguesa is famous the world over, having won a number of national
and international awards, rave reviews from press and media, and the devoted patronage of gourmets. The
best-selling Goa Portuguesa Cookbook by Deepa Suhas Awchat is a celebration of Goan cuisine.

Welcome to the gourmet experience of the food chain: Goa Portuguesa, Dakshin Culture Curry & Diva Maharashtracha which has been serving delicious cuisine from Goa, South India and Maharashtra.I come from a true-blue foodie family. From my earliest childhood I have seen my parents eat, live and breathe food.
This rubbed onto me and instilled in me the passion for food, which I concertized with a degree in Hotel Management from Mumbai University and Post Graduate in Business Management
My inspiration-my parents-have given me the best advice. Treat every guests as you would treat them at home. So I welcome you to my home!
