How to Apply Styles• Select the text for the style to be applied

• On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click the More button

to display the Styles gallery

• Normal style is the default style for a new blank document

• Click on the desired style

Symbols in the Styles Window• Character style, indicated by

the symbol a, contains formatting characteristics that apply to text.• Paragraph style, indicated by

the symbol includes everything that a character style contains, plus all aspects of a paragraph appearance.

• Linked style, indicated by the symbol a behaves as either a character or paragraph style, depending on what you select.• List style, applies formats to a

list.• Table style, applies a consistent

look on a table.
