There is a new release of GNS 3 on 11 August 2015 1.4 Beta Version. Remember one thing
before use that now currently this is not stable. It is to be for just testing purpose and I test it. It
is performed very well there is some changes in this version as compare to GNS3 1.4 alpha
version.

It is compatible with all operating system, Windows 7, XP, Windows 8, Windows 10 and more
plus linux and Mac Operating System. Any way I will recommend you
Windows / Mac OS X installation
Files for Windows and Mac OS X can be downloaded from Release Version 1.4.0 beta 1
Linux installation
For Linux users we recommend an installation via Pypi
pip3 install gns3-gui==1.4.0beta1
pip3 install gns3-server==1.4.0beta1
We intend to create Debian/RPM packages for a release candidate or final version of 1.4
Main changes since alpha 4
Showing the error if you will use a local server which is not running or started.
Clear the list before asking for VM list from VirtualBox or VMware
Fixing the password lost of remote servers
Set schema for VirtualBox in GNS3 1.3.2 projects.
Refactor all VM wizards.
Fix apply not enabled when removing a remote server
Fix remote server list display when enabling "Use the local server" option for Qemu
Store the url of server in GNS3 GUI for third party apps

The GNS3 VM is available for both VMware and VirtualBox and can be found on Release Version
0.8.5
The VM replaces the old IOU VM which is not compatible with this version of GNS3. It is totally
optional but strongly recommended for Windows or Mac OS X users looking at running Qemu
based appliances like ASA etc. and of course IOU devices.
