National Day of Action (NDA)

To celebrate Australia’s National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence last Friday, Glengala Primary School held some spe-cial classes and activities for the students. The National Day of Action is a positive day of action, bringing school communities to-gether to help find workable solutions that address bullying and violence. The Foundation students watched a story about Llama Llama and the Bully Goat. We played charades - acting out and guessing different emotions – and made a poster of how we can be a good friend. The Year 1/2 students watched Allen’s Adventures about an alien visiting Earth who is taught how to be a good friend by his classmates. We played charades - acting out and guessing different emotions. We also acted out situations of what to do it some-one is being mean. The Year 3-6 students watched a video about what bullying is and what we can do if we are being bullied. We talked about differ-ent types of bullying, like physical, verbal and social. We also did a group role play for our class about bullying, and made posters protesting bullying. Everyone got a band to wear to remind us to take a stand together and say: “Bullying, No Way!” Laura Esson (Psychologist) and Kirsty Kelly (Speech Pathologist) Allied Health Team
