ArcelorMittal Engineering Products Ostrava is a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal Ostrava, the largest steel making company in the Czech Republic, which owns 100 % of the share in the company. The company was established on January 1, 2011 but it can boast by more than fifty-year long tradition and experience in the following production segments:

The production activities of the company focus mainly on production of mechanical parts, steel structures, mechanical process equipment and production lines, working rolls, castings, wheel-sets and axles. The company also includes heat treatment facilities and electric motors repair shop.
The primary focus of the company is the steel industry; however, we are also able to satisfy the needs of customers in the area of the petrochemical industry, mining industry, mechanical engineering industry, automotive industry, etc.
The main strengths include a long tradition and experience and also a broad portfolio of production and material capacities in one place, comprehensive implementation of the projects and synergy among the individual operation units.

Engineering production division deals with production of mechanical assemblies and equipment, piece and small batch production and renewal of spare parts for heavy industry mainly steel making industry, mining industry and related segments.
The division ensures machining, production of gearing, heat treatment, millwright and bridge building work, fabrication of steel structures and welded pieces. Production is carried out on the basis of the drawings provided by the customer or prepared by us.

Saw blade disks
Saw blades for both cold and hot cutting manufactured already for 40 years. Proprietary original designs and special types of steel are durable, emit low lev-els of noise, achieve very good surface roughness of the cut. Saw blades are de-signed for cutting rolled steel products, such as: rails, pipes, rods and the like, both in cold and hot. They are produced in sizes Ø (600 - 2100) mm with a pitch of (8-22) mm and disc thickness (6-12) mm.

Castings production tradition dates back to 1951. Long term experience in castings production is currently used for production of demanding steel castings, grey iron and nodular iron castings for metallurgical and engineering companies in the Czech Republic and abroad. The operation unit includes also a pattern shop and scales treatment center. The unit obtained product certificates from Bureau Veritas for the entire product range and Lloyd's Register for grey iron and nodular iron castings with a piece weight up to 15 000 kg.
Grey iron and nodular iron castings Moulds and accessories, stands, beds of machine tools, tables, base plates, fixing plates, pressing tools, gearbox housings, flywheels, gears and chain wheels, pulleys, fittings, mandrels, elbows, weights, etc. Grey iron and nodular iron castings are made by uniform technological process of manual molding
into frames and to the ground (coffers) using forming mixture based on furan resins.
Steel castings Steel castings are made into CT mixtures based on sodium silicate and fenol-resol and usually they area heat-treated – normalization annealing, tempering or stress release annealing. Fluid motor boxes, pulleys, belt pulleys, grates and grate bars, chain wheels, gears and travel wheels, railway discs, slag ladles, funnels, castings for mining machines, rolls, etc.
Pattern equipment - Pattern Shop The Pattern Shop provides production of pattern equipment with dimensions up to 2 000 x 2 400x 4 500 and 3 000 mm made from wood, resin or plastics for the needs of the company´s foundry as well as for external customers. Workmanship of models in class H3, H2, H1 as per ČSN EN 12890.
In case of more demanding requirements of the customer we also cooperate with partnership pattern shops.

The unit provides repairs and servicing of all types and versions of electric machines –AC and DC, rotating synchronous and asynchronous, with squirrel cage and slip ring rotors, DC motors and high-voltage motors. The unit also provides repairs of stationary electrical devices – reactors and lifting magnets.
Further, the unit offers rewinding, measuring services of electrical machines, including rotation tests, electrical testing of protection equipment, in-process diagnostic service, burning of windings and dynamic balancing.
Since 2012, our company is a SIEMENS certified service center with well-trained servicing personnel.

Welding SchoolThe welding school offers courses aimed at obtaining, expanding or extending the validity of welding qualification for welding worker, welder, and welder with a test as per ČSN EN 287-1.
The courses are offered for welding process 111(E), 135(M), 141(T) and 311(G). Basic, additional, and training courses, including the possibility of obtaining certificate as per ČSN EN 287 for fillet welds.
Also additional training and testing of welders from safety provisions as per ČSN 05 0610, ČSN 05 0630, ČSN 05 0650, welding courses as per ČSN EN 287-1, ČSN EN ISO 9606 - 2 (expanding or extending the validity of the certificate), ČSN EN 1418 and courses as per DIN (RW TÜV), API, preparation courses for hard soldering as per ČSN EN 13 133 and courses for higher welding personnel – European Welding Practitioner (EWP) in cooperation with the Czech Welding Institute (in Czech Český svářečský ústav s.r.o.).
• courses for the “welding worker” qualification take one week • basic courses take four weeks, additional courses take three weeks • preparation courses for achieving the welder’s test as per ČSN EN 287-1 take three weeks and in case of extending the validity of the test (or expanding) the course takes one week

The unit provides repairs and servicing of all types and versions of electric machines made by domestic and foreign manufacturers – mainly SIEMENS, ABB, ANSALDO, SCHORCH.
The center has developed its own electrical insulation system in temperature class F that has been tested by operation of electric machines in the demanding environment of ArcelorMittal. This system is applied to all electric machines serviced by us with the exception of high-voltage rotating electric machines for which we use a proven technology RESIN REACH.

Roll-Turning Shop is engaged in producing of new mill rolls and renovation of mill rolls for hot rolled steel sections and strips.
This unit has more than 50-year long tradition and experience with machining of alloyed forgings and iron and steel castings with hardness up to 90 HSh, including experience with machining of tungsten carbide rolls. The unit offers also production of gauge or copy templates.

Heat treatment is performed in gas and electric furnaces. The furnaces are lined with fireclay lining, or fiber material lining. The process is controlled by PC and documented by heat treatment data logging.

This unit provides production of axles, solid and tyred wheels for railway and tramway vehicles according to EN, UIC and ČSN Standards. The unit provides assembly and repair of wheel–sets for railway vehicles, including replacement of tyres, disc and gearing wheels, brake discs, installation of bearing boxes on axle journals, static balancing of solid and tyred wheels, and the prescribed tests.
