Oroplus® Objectives
BETTER QUALITY: - To guarantee high quality of the product during each harvest, taking into account variable and unpredictable weather conditions.
- To guarantee a beautiful product with superior organoleptic qualities, reducing the quantity of dangerous plant protection products.
- Of the plants, thanks to the controlled microclimate in which the vegetative cycle can develop.
BETTER PROTECTION: - Against unpredictable atmospheric events. - Against sudden changes in temperature, which can be
damaging to the plants and the fruits.
- Against sudden radiation. - Against infection from fungal agents. - Against attacks of insects.
MORE PRODUCTIVITY: - To guarantee constant volumes over the years.- By prolonging the ripening period over the year, and by
anticipating/delaying the ripening of the fruit. - By prolonging the harvest period over the year.
ADVANCE: - Hastening the harvest period compared to a cultivation without cover.
DELAY: - Delaying the harvest period compared to a cultivation without cover.

PROTECTIONUnpredictable atmospheric events
Sudden changes in temperatureHeavy rain Gusts of wind
They all entail damaging effects on plants and fruits.A suitable structure is essential to achieve the best results.
Sudden weather events with exceptional parameters are excluded
PROTECTIONDamaging UV rays
Infections Attacks of insects
A reduction in UV radiations reduces the number of spores and their effectiveness
Reduction in number of infection from fungal agentsExe: BOTRITYS
Reducing UV radiations implies that insects cannot orient themselves inside the structure as they cannot distinguish between plants, flowers and fruits.
It has been demonstrated that the presence of insects in the structure is reduced considerably.
PROTECTION
A PROPER INSTALLATION OF A STRUCTURE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ASSEMBLING AND MAINTENANCE NORMS IS ESSENTIAL TO ACHIEVE THE SET OBJECTIVES.
Over 30 years of direct experience is available, thanks to partnerships with customers and structure manufacturers.
Structures:
MANEGEABILITY DURING MAINTENANCE, APPLICATION AND REMOVAL OF THE SHEETS.
ADEQUATE COSTS AND DEPRECIATION PLANS. ADEQUATE RESISTANCE TO SPECIAL WEATHER

PROTECTIONGRAPE: Outdated solutions
Arch: One-wire Trellis: Three-wire Trellis:
More Expensive.
Metal arches are in direct contact with the film; as they generate high temperature, they entail the deterioration of the characteristics of the film and increases the risk of break.
Foliage and fruit positioned on the same level.
Less expensive but causes confusion.
Functional and ideal, due to the distance between the leaf system and the first level of anchorage of the film (20-30 cm).
Expensive. More difficult to manage.
PROTECTIONGRAPE: When the arch system is more suitable
Arch:
Expensive.
Metal arches are in direct contact with the film; as they generate high temperature, they entail the deterioration of the characteristics of the film and increases the risk of break.
By placing a net under the film you achieve an ideal structure that can better resist windy weathers
Ideal for areas with strong winds and with UV radiations lower than 160 Kly.

PROTECTIONOTHER FRUIT: Standard dimensions (m)
Soft Fruits:
Max height: 3,20m Greatest achievable closing Greatest handling of a single sheet
Other Fruit: potted or not
Max height : 3,20m potted- 5,50 not potted Usate of to sheets to achieve best
manageability Greatest closing with possibility to have a wind
outlet
PROTECTIONOther fruit: Development of Foliage/Fruit under cover
It is better to have the plant growing on a Espallier.
This solution facilitates the achievement of a good foliage/fruit ratio.
This solution can ease the harvest and the maintenance services.
Maximum lenght of the line: Max 100 mt (Ideal 75 mt)
PROTECTIONFor any kind of fruit: Benefits with the solutions proposed
Calculation of the ideal sheet width: ((Hypotenuse – 15cm)*2) Example: distance between posts is 300cm and ridge
height is 70 cm Calculation: (165cm - 15cm)*2 = 300cm
By respecting the suggested distances between posts, sheets can be used with widths as follows:
Ridge of the roof 50cm Sheet 285cm Ridge of the roof 70cm Sheet 300cmRidge of the roof 80cm Sheet 310cm
Using the recommended widths, an easy manageability can be guaranteed thus reducing the time for positioning and removing of the sheets or, if need be, for enclosing the entire structure.
The structure is more compact and consequently more resistant to external factors.
The central hail-protection netting used for other fruit is easy to manage and reduces the possibility of hail positioning at the base of the plant, which causes sudden temperature changes that can be extremely damaging.

Net below and film above is the most common solution thanks to the easiness in the positioning and the removal of the sheet after harvest.
Protection always guaranteed.
PROTECTIONRolling up and safekeeping - Dismantling
Sheets that are rolled up on the structure must be protected with a UV protective white film. If not, the exposed parts will deteriorate.
It is important to understand whether the customer intends to roll the sheet up and keep them on the structure.
Using semiautomatic machines, the sheets slide over the structure and are rolled up onto a core for storage in a warehouse, if possible in a specific box.
The laces remain on the rolled-up sheet to facilitate the repositioning.
PROTECTIONUV radiation:
South America and Southern Italy have very similar average values concerning UV radiation.
It is important to understand the levels of radiation expected in the areas in which sheets will be installed.

Excellent light transmission.
Light diffusive:
To guarantee a correct diffusion means to protect from burns, to achieve greater productivity and greater photosynthesis throughout the entire growing period of the plant.
Photoselective:
In certain conditions, special photoselective films enable fruit to grow with organoleptic properties that are well above the average.
