Proposal to BMGF: Initiate the implementation of GAPP

Proposal to BMGF: Initiate the implementation of GAPP

Overall Objective: To initiate the implementation of GAPP in countries through regional workshops in collaboration with the WHO regional offices.

Objectives of the regional meeting– To reach a common understanding on the concept/principles of GAPP

strategy, its advantages and implications for the health system.– To discuss a management structure to coordinate the implementation of the

GAPP strategy.– To obtain commitment to initiating the early implementation phase in order to

gain experience with the practical application of the GAPP strategy.– To prepare a country-specific draft plan for practical application of the GAPP

strategy.

Participants from up to 5 countries– Programme managers and technical staff of programmes (EPI, IMCI,

nutrition, Health Systems, WHO and UNICEF staff.
