3. Transfer your files to the Web Host using FTP.

1 - Domain Name

You will need to acquire a Domain NameA domain name is also called a Web address.These names appear as a component of a

Web site's URL, e.g. www.yahoo.com is a domain name

This type of domain name is also called a host name.

Network Solutions, a web hosting service, was the first domain name registration service ever established in 1993.

registrars to choose from. Most Web hosts provide the service to purchase

a domain name.

2 - Web Hosting

You will need to acquire a Web Hosting Service.

Usually a monthly fee, but can pay yearly for price breaks.

www.godaddy.com is one of the least expensive hosting services.

When you sign up for Web space, you determine:Your Domain NameYour usernameYour password

You will use these three things to FTP your files to the Web host.

3 - Uploading and FTP

You will upload your local site to your Web Host using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

There are many free FTP programs out there, but Expression Web has its own built in FTP program for uploading your Web site.
