    Tese special rules reect the doctrine and training that give German soldiers their edge in battle. Tese special rulesare the standard rules rom the rulebook (on pages 166 to 168). Not all o the special rules in the rulebook apply as theGerman Army has not yet developed some o the equipment it would later use to good efect.

    Doctrine

    Te Kampgruppe, or battle group, is an important part o

    German military operations. Leaders at every level ormmission-specifc task orces rom any troops available.

    Beore deploying your orce at the start o the game, you may takeup to hal o the Sections or Squads (excluding the HQ Section)

    rom any Combat or Weapons platoons in the company and placethem in a special Kampgruppe Platoon. Te 2iC Commandteam becomes the Platoon Command team or this platoon,ceasing to be an Independent team and no longer countingas a 2iC Command team. eams placed in the KampgruppePlatoon are no longer part o their original platoons.

    Te Kampgruppe Platoon counts as a platoon or all purposesincluding deployment and Company Morale Checks.

    miSSion taCtiCS

    Beore battle, every soldier in the company is brieed on theirmission and how it relates to the overall battle plan. Far rom

    compromising security, this trust allows any soldier to takeover when their superior is killed.

    I a Platoon Command Inantry team is Destroyed, another teamtakes over immediately. Remove any other Inantry team in the

    platoon that is within Command Distance o th e Commandteam and replace it with the original Platoon Command team.

    I a Platoon Command ank team is Destroyed, another teamtakes over immediately. Nominate any other ank team in the

    platoon that is within Command Distance o the DestroyedCommand team to be the new Platoon Command team.

    I there is no team o an appropriate type within CommandDistance, then the Platoon Command team is Destroyed andthe platoon is let leaderless.

    StoRmtRoopeRS

    German soldiers have inherited the Stormtrooper ethos rom

    their athers in the First World War. While other armies waitor orders, the Stormtroopers are racing ahead to take theirobjective.

    Any German platoon with a Platoon Command team mayattempt a Stormtroopers move in its Assault Step.

    Roll a Skill est or each platoon.

    I the test is passed, the platoon treats the Assault Step as aMovement Step in which it can move up to another 4/10cm,regardless o its normal movement distance.

    I the test is ailed, the platoon cannot move any urther thisturn.

    Either way, a platoon that attempts to make a Stormtroopersmove cannot Launch an Assault in the same turn.

    Although it is not the Movement Step, teams making aStormtroopers move may mount and dismount as i it was a

    Movement Step.

    Platoons cannot make Stormtroopers moves i they moved Atthe Double. Bogged Down or Bailed Out vehicles cannot makeStormtroopers moves.

    Only Armoured vehicles can make Stormtroopers movesi they are Pinned Down. Other types o team cannot makeStormtroopers moves i they are Pinned Down.

    Gun teams that shot earlier in the turn cannot make aStormtroopers move. eams o any type that have fred an artil-lery bombardment cannot make a Stormtroopers move.

    mounted aSSault

    Whereas most armoured inantry use their hal-tracks asbattle taxis to get them close to the enemy, then dismountand assault on oot, German Panzerschtzen assault light op-position still mounted in their hal-tracks.

    A ransport team cannot normally Charge into Contact.However, a German ransport team rom a platoon that iscapable o making a mounted assault may do so. A ransportteam making a mounted assault must not have mounted ordismounted passengers earlier in the turn.

    In the frst Assault Combat Round, one Inantry team carriedas a passenger in each ransport team that is not Bailed Out

    may fght as i it was a ank team (remembe r that ank teamscannot assault anks). Te ransport teams themselves cannot

    fght in the assault.

    Te passengers remain mounted in their hal-tracks until theplatoon launches a Counterattack, whereupon they mustdismount.

    Inantry teams that started the Assault Step dismounted fghtalongside the hal-track-mounted teams using the normalassault rules.

    As the platoon is not made up entirely o Armoured ank teams,it will all back i Pinned Down by Deensive Fire, even i thevehicles armour protects the platoon rom casualties.
