GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY UNIT 4: EUROPE
1 – PHYSICAL MAP OF EUROPE Europe is one of the seven continents. The seven continents or continental landmasses are AFRICA, AMERICA (North America and South America), ANTARCTICA, ASIA, AUSTRALIA (Oceania) and EUROPE. Europe has about 10,180,000 square kilometres and it is the smallest continent on Earth. It has a remarkable maritime character . Europe has a lot of islands (Iceland, British Islands, Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Crete and some others), and a lot of peninsulas (Iberian, Italic, Balkan, Scandinavian, Jutland and others more). The boundaries of Europe are: the Ural Mountains, the Ural River and the Caspian Sea to the East; the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea to the Southeast; the Arctic Ocean and other seas to the North; the Atlantic Ocean to the West; and the Mediterranean Sea to the South. - Climatic map of Europe:
