WELCOME!

1. We would like to first congratulate you on your decision to attend the 2019 LA Wing Encampment. An

encampment can be the most significant and worthwhile training experience of a CAP cadet’s

membership. Training is what the encampment is all about.

2. During this encampment, you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you’ve gained in the

cadet programs to practical situations. Additionally, you will develop a greater understanding of CAP

and Air Force missions and capabilities, develop your leadership potential, enhance your interpersonal

skills, develop time-management skills, develop a spirit of teamwork, inspire a sense of discipline, and

learn how to overcome challenges and succeed. The skills you develop at encampment will also help

your local unit, making their experience in Civil Air Patrol even better.

3. In this guide, you’ll find a list and description of all of the required items you’ll need during the time

you’ll be at encampment. Some items are optional, but most are required. Please pay close attention to the list so that you don’t miss anything! PACK IN A MANNER THAT YOU CAN CARRY YOUR OWN LUGGAGE.

REQUIREMENT: Each participant MUST now bring with them 2 non-fitted bed sheets (twin size), 2 pillow cases (white or off white only)and a pillow. Also required is 1 sleeping bag. Those who do not bring these items will be charged $25.00 for these items.

4. For more information about the encampment, please visit: http://lawgcp.com/encampment_4.html

5. We look forward to seeing you on arrival day!

Regards,

The Encampment Staff
