Years 7 & 8 Art home study work tasks: Create a shape composition in the style of Frank Stella and now combine the patterns of Thaneeya McArdle into each section. Complete in block colours using colouring pencils or felt tip pens. Annotate to explain the following: ~How it combines both artists styles? What skills you have used? Annotate to explain the following:

~Which colours represent certain emotions and why?

Create a colour chart and label how certain colours make you feel.

E.g.~

Red could relate to Love, warmth and Romance or Hate, Danger,

Anger or a warning

Look at the 2 pieces of artwork and answer the questions to analyse each piece individually…

Years 7 & 8 Art home study work tasks:Now design 2 Abstract expressionist pieces of artwork.

Criteria:

Select 2 opposite emotions to base each of your artworks on.

E.g.~ ‘Relaxed & Stressed’

• Draw a box for each design that measures 14cm x 14cm. Complete your pattern inside.

• Both must show contrasting patterns.

• Both must show opposite colour schemes that relate back to your emotions colour key.

• Both must show blending and must be completed in colouring pencils only.

Look at your 2 pieces of artwork and annotate your ideas using the guidance questions…

Years 7 & 8 Art home study work tasks:Research the works of Mark Rothko and Wassily Kandinsky, they are both Abstract Expressionist artists.

Show examples of their work and analyse using the guidance questions.

Pick your favourite artwork from each artist and create a transcription (direct copy) in any media of your choice:

~Colouring pencils
