PROGRAM OVERVIEW In an effort to promote diversity in Hollywood and inclusion of Alaska Native content creators, GCI is collaborating with the Walter Kaitz Foundation to offer a fellowship program to two Alaska Natives who want to further their career in the film, television or digital industry. GCI will select two experienced content creatorsfrom directors to playwrights to producersto participate in the Walter Kaitz Foundation’s 9th Hollywood Creative Forum in Los Angeles, California. Each finalist will be able to establish and foster lifelong connections to help guide their professional careers in television, film and digital. CRITERIA GCI will select two Alaska Native artists to attend the 2018 Hollywood Creative Forum. GCI will select two experienced content creators—from directors to playwrights to producers— to participate in the Walter Kaitz Foundation’s 9th Hollywood Creative Forum in Los Angeles, California. Each finalist will be able to establish and foster lifelong connections to help guide their professional careers in television, film and digital.

APPLICATION PROCESS

All applications must be submitted via email to [email protected] and must contain the following:

• Contact information, including address and telephone number • Examples of work (could include screenplays, production videos, IMDB link, etc.) • Biography (500-word limit) • Cover letter (750-word limit) • Artistic statement (1,000-word limit)

DEADLINE All applications are due by Nov. 30, 2017. The finalists will be notified via email and announced at the Anchorage International Film Festival in early December. The two people selected will be provided exclusive entry to the forum on Feb.13-14, 2018, in Los Angeles.

WHAT FINALISTS CAN EXPECT • A trip to Los Angeles for the Hollywood Creative Forum, including round-trip airfare and

hotel expenses • Invitations to a private dinner in Los Angeles with a select group of development and

programming executives • A GCI Welcome Package upon arrival in Los Angeles • Feature on GCI and Walter Kaitz Foundation’s social media platforms • Feature on Channel 907, the Anchorage International Film Festival and at the Alaska

Federation of Natives Convention • Free admission to the Anchorage International Film Festival
