Gathering, recording, research, and investigation I have a detailed mind map. My project has a clear beginning point. I have looked at an appropriate artist – I can explain why, and why I chose specific works. – I have done some practical work based on what I researched. I have evidence of researching from different sources – I havent just used the internet, I have visited a library, museum, gallery etc. My evidence supports the ideas on my sheet. This is obvious and clear. I have recorded from direct observation/from other sources. This work is detailed and accomplished.

Exploration and developing of ideas

• I can clearly see my first ideas (they are different to my final ideas).• I have developed initial ideas and observational drawings, by

sketching different solutions.• I have taken my sketches and developed these further, trying out

different media in the process• I have analysed the results of these explorations and made clear

artistic decisions about what to do next• There is a clear link between research images and my work. I have

used my research to help me.• My work has changed (improved) as it has developed. I have

explained how.• I have explained why my work needed the changes that I have

made.

Organisation and relationships of visual and/or other forms

• I have organised my work clearly and imaginatively – I have made clear design choices that make sense.

• The way my worksheet looks helps explore the question. • My idea is clear and easy to follow – it is not getting lost.• I have thought about how to make the design of my worksheet

even better, and then done it.• I have thought carefully about the composition of my final piece

and I have tried out different ways of presenting the same idea.• I have judged my own work and worked out areas to change or

improve – I have made clear changes now, and some I will make in my final piece. I have explained this.

Selection and control of materials, media and processes

• I have included quality evidence that I have experimented with different media. I have explained how I did this.

• I have used some of the following : Pencil, biro, pen and ink, charcoal, pastels, pencil crayons, wax crayons, felt tips, printing, mono-printing, sponging, watercolour, acrylic, oil, collage, mixed media, sculpture, relief, photoshop, illustrator. I have explained why I used these.

• I have take photographs to help me explore my idea. I have printed these on photographic paper.

• I have experimented – I have used the results of these experiments to change and improve my ideas.

• I have decided how to improve or change my work and used different materials/media to help me

• If I have done work on the computer, I have taken screenshots at each stage of the process, and I have explained what I’m doing.

Personal vision and presentation• I have explained my final ideas carefully and using correct

keywords. My writing supports the images and adds to them.• I have tried to make a piece of art that is personal to me, I have

important ideas and I have expressed them as uniquely as possible.

• I can discuss the themes and ideas in my work, and the style of my work, and I can relate this to my research.

• I have clearly identified areas in which I have done well, and areas that I need to improve – these are things that I will do in my final piece.

• I can clearly express my opinion about the artwork that I have produced for this project, and I can use specialist vocabulary to explain my ideas and artistic choices.
