With its xi series, KACO has set another milestone in the development of its proven and rugged Powador
solar inverters. The, completely transformerless technology has become the hallmark of KACO and
characterizes its highly efficient and exceptionally reliable inverters. The xi-series combines all the
features of a state-of-the-art energy converter: user convenience, innovative technology, maximum
degrees of efficiency and ruggedness.
Taking a pioneer role in the field of transformerless technology, KACO has focused primarily on maximum
efficiency, a fact already proven very impressively by the predecessor of today’s xi-series. The new xi-
series has been designed to follow-up this tradition – exhibiting degrees of efficiency that can only be
achieved by genuine transformerless inverter technology. In addition, KACO continues to count on its
unique MPP technology – ensuring that you will remain a step ahead as far as the total yield of your
installation is concerned.
The user convenience of KACO devices leaves nothing to be desired. All the important information can be
read off an illuminated display. Grid-side connection is via sturdy terminal screws, whereas on the DC
voltage end you may choose between terminal screws or plug-type connectors (Tyco or MC-type).
Installation is facilitated by means of a mounting plate, which is simply attached to the wall for suspension
of the inverter - wherever you wish to use the device. Protection class IP54 makes the inverter well-
equipped for any type of operating environment.And of course, it comes with a host of accessories.
Longevity and reliability have been the outstanding characteristics and key objectives of all KACO
developments. Mid of the last century, KACO created the basis for reliable inverters with its chopper units.
As reliability has remained a key characteristic of all KACO inverters the focus continues to be on the use
of convection cooling for KACO inverters.
In addition, KACO still relies on its proven 3-phase monitoring, which forms the basis of your interface
between the energy provider and PV installation. This completely passive technology enables parallel
operation of several inverters just as well as operation under difficult grid conditions. High reliability and the
absence of shutdowns due to system faults are the results.

“We want all wishes to come true!” - With this objective in mind, R&D engineers at KACO have pursued ideas and
possible enhancements of our well-proven transformerless inverter series, Powador. This series includes redundant
3-phase monitoring and AC/DC-universal fault-current protection. The fact that 3-phase monitoring has been adopted
in the VDE standard 0126-1 clearly confirms our philosophy at KACO: “Maximum reliability and functionality to our
customers’ benefit.” The grid monitoring feature is adapted to the requirements of the standard, now making it possible
to use KACO inverters for multi-inverter installations without requiring any additional effort. Discussions with your
Electric Board are now a thing of the past. The adjustable interface mode will make you even more flexible when
selecting your accessories or data recording and evaluation. This feature allows on-site selection of the desired
interface protocol (RS232 or RS485). In addition, a potential-free fault-message relay is integrated. The enclosure
design underlines all these product features, while maintaining the proven reliability and functionality of these devices.
Protection class IP 54 makes our inverters suitable for harsh operating conditions, and there are absolutely no
compromises as far as our guarantee and services are concerned. Our seven-year guarantee (with an option to be
extended to 11 years) is aimed at setting new standard.

heat is dissipated mainly via the heat sink on
the rear side of the inverter, with the remaining
heat being radiated by the aluminum surface
of the enclosure.
