FOUR-RUN FIRST HELPS RIDERS TO 5-4 WIN: The Riders prevailed in game two at Midland with a 5-4 triumph Tuesday night. Frisco scored all five of its runs in the first two innings, including four in the first. Michael O’Neill capped the big frame with a three-run homer. Reed Garrett worked scoreless eighth and ninth innings to earn the save and preserve the victory. UNCONSCIOUS AT THE PLATE: Since coming off the DL prior to Friday’s game in San Antonio, catcher Jose Trevino has been a key contributor for the Riders at the plate. Trevino is 8-for-17 in his first five games back with a triple, a homer and five RBIs. His average has increase from .184 to .237 during this stretch. His triple Sunday was the sixth of his career and first since August 13, 2015 with Class-A Hickory. The 2017 Texas League Midseason and Postseason All-Star missed 11 games after going on the DL April 29 with a right quad injury. EXCELLENT PENMANSHIP: Riders relievers have been in a groove the last few weeks. Since giving up 16 runs out of the pen May 1, Riders relievers sport a 2.50 ERA (14 ER in 50 1/3 IP) in the last 13 games. In the 18 games prior, that mark was 7.73. During this stretch, opponents are hitting just .166 (26-for-157) and have struck out 56 times. Reliever Brady Feigl (16 1/3 IP) hasn’t allowed a run this season. Meanwhile, relievers Reed Garrett (9 2/3) and Jeffrey Springs (5 2/3) also bring extended scoreless streaks into play tonight. LITTLE TIDBITS: The Riders are gunning for their second straight win tonight. It would be the first time this season they’ve won consec- utive games. Michael De Leon enters play tonight on a eight-game hitting streak, batting .345 in this stretch. With a hit tonight, he’ll tie Chuck Moorman for the team’s longest hit streak of the season. Frisco pitching has allowed just one home run in the last seven games after allowing homers in 10 straight games (17 total) immediately prior to this stretch. Luis Marte has two-hit games in each of his last three starts. Riders hitters struck out just four times last night, tied for their fewest punchouts in a game this season. game #39 wednesday, may 16 6:30 p.m. Security Bank Ballpark • Midland, TX RHP Pedro Payano (1-3, 6.23) vs. RHP Kyle Friedrichs (2-2, 8.33) Video: MiLB.tv • Audio: RidersBaseball.com, TuneIn Radio and MiLB First Pitch App MIDLAND ROCKHOUNDS (20-18) Oakland Athletics DATE TIME OPPONENT RIDERS STARTER OPPOSING STARTER Thu. 5/17 7:00 p.m. at Midland LHP Brett Martin (0-4, 8.78) RHP Joel Seddon (2-2, 4.66) Fri. 5/18 7:05 p.m. vs. Corpus Christi RHP Richelson Pena (1-3, 3.69) TBA Sat. 5/19 7:05 p.m. vs. Corpus Christi RHP Ariel Jurado (1-1, 2.57) TBA Sun. 5/20 4:05 p.m. vs. Corpus Christi RHP Tyler Davis (0-3, 8.20) TBA upcoming pitching probables 2018................................................... 9-29 2017................................................ 16-22 Best record ..............
