Substantial negative environmental impact so far has not been demonstrated

Further development of off-shore wind power in practice will increase the body of knowledge on nature and environment and consequently also on the possibilities for mitigating measures

Preliminary conclusion from the Danish Monitoring Programme on Offshore Wind

• Seals behaviour seam not to be affected

• Harbour porpoises return to the sites

• Migrating birds seam to avoid collision

• Habituation of staging and wintering birds?

• Significant artificial wreck effect observed

• No electromagnetic field effect observed

• Tendency of public acceptance

Follow up

• Steering Committee will review achievements made during 2006

• Germany plan to host a follow up meeting at the beginning of 2007
